Carrie Underwood Co-Writes and Records End Title Song for THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: THE VOYAGE OF THE DAWN TREADER

LOS ANGELES–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Multi-platinum selling recording artist, songwriter, and 5-time Grammy winner Carrie Underwood has recorded the end title song, “There’s a Place for Us, ” for the holiday motion picture event THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: THE VOYAGE OF THE DAWN TREADER in theaters December 10th.

Underwood agreed to co-write (with David Hodges and Hillary Lindsey) and record the song, produced by her famed, multi-platinum producer Mark Bright, after the filmmakers screened for them a rough cut of the picture.

Underwood commented: “I’m a big fan of the ‘Narnia’ books and films, so I was really excited about seeing this new movie and writing and performing a song for it. I was blown away by the film, and I think people are going to be really excited when they see it. It’s the perfect holiday film.

“THE VOYAGE OF THE DAWN TREADER presents an imaginative world that’s also relatable because it’s easy to connect the characters and themes to our own lives, ” Underwood continues. “The land of Narnia represents a place where the young heroes truly belong. That inspired me to get together with David and Hillary and write ‘There’s a Place for Us, ’ which says that for everybody, there’s a place where you’re powerful and where you belong. The movie and song are about finding that place where you fit in.”

“There’s a Place for Us” will receive major broadcast and online debuts this month, and will be available for purchase exclusively at iTunes on November 16th.

International cover versions of Underwood’s song will be recorded overseas in a small number of select countries, broadening the impact of this worldwide release.

Paula Abdul brings the trash-talk in ‘Idol’ face-off

‘I want to kick their butts, ” Paula Abdul told a friend and longtime fellow “American Idol” associate the other day. The ex-“Idol” judge was showcasing her rarely revealed, very strong competitive nature — talking up her new CBS series, “Live to Dance.”

“Paula loves the fact she’s going to go head-to-head with ‘Idol’ on Wednesday and Thursday nights, when both shows kick off in January, ” said the source.

“I never knew she had this thing about Jennifer Lopez, ” added the BZ spy. “Apparently, it really bugs her that people are comparing her to J. Lo. It’s like she’s obsessed about it, which is weird, ” added the former Abdul associate.

Jason Aldean celebrates ‘My Kinda Party’

The album also features a duet with pop singer Kelly Clarkson. Aldean had a specific sound in mind for that track, “Don’t You Wanna Stay, ” and Clarkson was the first (and only) person he thought could pull it off.

“(I wanted a) singer that had a really soulful voice and that’s Kelly’s vibe, ” Aldean said. “There’s honestly not many people in country music that could really make that song sound the way I wanted it to. I’m a fan of Kelly’s. Country music fans aren’t used to hearing Kelly Clarkson on country music radio, so when they hear that I think it’s going to grab their attention.”

Audrina Patridge’s DWTS Blog: ‘I Wasn’t Ready to Go Yet’

When Tony Dovolani and I were sent home from Dancing with the Stars Tuesday night, we were both in shock. We didn’t think we were going to be sent home so soon.

Even though Tony and I received high scores and were in second place, we still got voted off! It’s just so baffling. I think a lot of people don’t understand why it happened either. Even the judges were in shock.
