She’s not quite ready to follow suit, but she’s working on it: Carrie Underwood collects her seventh No. 1 as “Just a Dream” (19/Arista) advances 3-1 on Hot Country Songs.
“Just a Dream” is the fourth single from Underwood’s sophomore album, “Carnival Ride.” All four singles, including “So Small, ” “All-American Girl” and “Last Name, ” have achieved pole position. That makes Underwood the first solo female artist to pull four No. 1s from one album since Shania Twain did it in 1995-1996 with a quartet of tracks from “The Woman In Me.”

By the end of 2008, the Oklahoma native will have performed 137 live concerts, not counting her many Grand Ole Opry and television performances. The current fall leg of her tour has included Wednesday top-notch sold-out show in her home state at Tulsa BOK Center, a sold-out run of five shows in Canada earlier this month, and many other sell-outs across the United States.

Singer Carrie Underwood tries to be modest about her success since winning American Idol in 2005, but there is no denying that she has the total package of talent, looks, attitude and songs needed to become a crossover superstar like Shania Twain.
Despite selling nearly 11 million albums in her short post-Idol career, Underwood makes a believable case that she is not obsessed with entering the orbit of Twain, who used sexy looks, sassy attitude and a slick country-pop sound to go global in the mid-’90s.
Carrie Underwood’s voice was in fine form at Nokia concert, but she’s still finding her emotional groove
Emotionally, she’s still more connected to upbeat numbers and has trouble dialing down the twinkle even when the lyrics dictate sorrow rather than sassiness. Early in the concert, she grinned all the way through “Wasted, ” a heartbreaker about regret that Lee Ann Womack or Martina McBride would have used to twist your heart into knots.
Ms. Underwood certainly pleased the fashionistas in attendance, decked out in a sparkly top and stiletto boots, then a frothy periwinkle ball gown that ‘ poof! ‘ turned into a sexy little mini, and finally a leather vest, peach camisole and skintight jeans.

Julianne Hough is wasting no time getting back to Dancing With The Stars after surgery to remove her appendix. But when she returns on November 11th, she told us she’ll be focusing on her “other” career: I’m actually gonna be performing on Dancing With The Star in the next week or so. So I’m gonna be singing my new single ‘My Hallelujah Song. I’m excited about that. Should be good.
Julianne’s tour mate Brad Paisley will also be on Dancing With The Stars that night.
