My first post, earlier than planned
I was going to wait another day or two and craft something official for my Idol Chatter debut. But then I was sitting at the Jonas Brothers concert tonight at Nashville Ryman Auditorium, listening to them cover Stevie Wonder Superstition when Jordin Sparks walked out and started singing with them. She also sang No Air as a duet with Joe Jonas. (Apparently, Chris Richardson is around here somewhere, too, but I havent seen him.) Other guests on the show so far have included Michael W. Smith, Martina McBride, Amy Grant, Steven Curtis Chapman, Phil Vassar and Vince Gill. Ill have a more formal introduction soon, but I thought youd want to know this. — Brian Mansfield
Gov. Huntsman prepares for Monday’s inauguration

(KSL News) Gov. Jon Huntsman, Jr. will be sworn into office tomorrow, and he has a lot on his mind as heads into his second term leading the state.
The Governor’s inauguration will take place on the south stairs of the State Capitol tomorrow morning at 11:45. Murray’s American Idol David Archuleta will sing the national anthem.

Stanley shares stage with ‘Idol’ winner Ruben Studdard in Sarasota
…American Idol winner Ruben Studdard may be the star attraction of the 30th anniversary tour of …Aint Misbehavin, but the show final performance in Sarasota Sunday night offered an extra local boost.
Ruben Studdard and Frenchie Davis, who headline the tour of “Ain’t Misbehavin’, ” were joined at the Van Wezel Sunday night by Sarasotan Teresa Stanley.
Teresa Stanley, who grew up into a powerhouse performer during her many years on stage in Sarasota, joined the cast for a lively and stellar performance. Stanley is an understudy to two of the women and the production allowed her to go on for Patrice Covington in the last of the three Sarasota shows.
Idol’ fascination fuels ‘AIN’T MISBEHAVIN”
When Ruben Studdard nosed out Clay Aiken to win the 2003 ”American Idol” contest, he was jettisoned into instant national fame.
Now, five years later, he is adding another first to his resume. Since early November, he has been touring in the 30th Anniversary National Tour of the 1978 Tony Award-winning musical, ”Ain’t Misbehavin’.”
Based on the life and music of legendary Harlem entertainer and musician Fats Waller, the song-and-dance revue comes to Philadelphia’s Academy of Music for a five-performance, weekend engagement beginning Friday. Studdard will be joined on stage by two other 2003 ”American Idol” contestants, Trenyce Cobbins, one of the top five finalists that year, and Frenchie Davis, now starring in the Broadway production of ”Rent.”

UH Cheerleaders Win Paula Abdul’s MTV Show
The University of Hawaii cheerleaders are getting national recognition thanks to MTV. The squad is featured on the new reality show “Rah! Paula Abdul’s Cheerleading Bowl, ” which debuted Saturday.
The University of Hawaii cheer squad is basking in the national spotlight. In November, they passed up the national cheerleading championships to compete on a new reality show for MTV, hosted by Paula Abdul.

Senators Center Mike Fisher Apparently Has No Problems With Tony Romo’s Sloppy Seconds
While Sean Avery had something to say about fellow NHL players dating his ex girlfriends, it’s unlikely that Ottawa Senators center Mike Fisher will have to hear anything like that from Tony Romo about Fisher dating Carrie Underwood, who has previously been seen with Romo. It’s just not Romo’s style, and he seems happy enough with Jessica Simpson that he has no need to play the “mine is bigger” game in which Avery gets caught up all the time.
