The Hollywood Santa Parade is going to the dogs! Sponsors are invited to join a unique marketing opportunity with a “Walking Billboard” of dogs to benefit children in the hospital. This Hollywood tradition, taking place on Saturday, November 25, 2007 at 5:00pm, will honor the pageantry and festive spirit of its predecessor, the Hollywood Christmas Parade. Band makes strong mark in first week of competition on reality show

The judges raved about them last week at the Las Vegas auditions. But would they continue showing the love?

As part of the first night of full-blown competition on the new Fox reality show …The Next Great American Band, Detroit rockers the Muggs unleashed a version of the Bob Dylan classic …Meet Me in the Morning, along with an original tune, …Slow Curve. All 12 of the bands had to cover a Dylan tune and perform a song of their own before hearing from the trio judges, Goo Goo Doll John Rzeznik, percussionist Sheila E. and music biz suit Ian (Dicko) Dickson.

And yeah, they again had good things to say about the gritty blues-rock trio:

The Next Great American Band, like American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance, is very simple. No frills on tonight’s show, no celebrity guests, no filler. A perfect reality show. The Next Great American Band rolled out its top 12 bands tonight and, quite simply, let them play. Each of the finalist bands, over two hours, played two songs each, one original and one Bob Dylan cover. Yep, the theme tonight was Bob Dylan covers. Some were good, some were all right, a couple were great. Overall, FOX has corralled an impressive group of bands………

Dominic Bowden is the Southern Hemisphere’s version Ryan Seacrest. Hailing from New Zealand, Bowden was chosen to host the new FOX reality series The Next Great American Band, from the producers of American Idol. This is Bowden’s first hosting gig in the States, but back in New Zealand he hosted everything from New Zealand Idol to awards shows to Deal or No Deal to his own radio show. Now on The Next Great American Band, Dominic was kind enough to speak with us yesterday about how he got here and how his experience in America has been so far……..

ENTERTAINMENT: ‘American Band’ contestant has local connections

A man with Lockport connections and his bandmates are reaching for the stars on the new Fox TV reality show, …The Next Great American Band.

Michael Crowe plays lead guitar for Tres Bien, a Florida-based band chosen as one of the top 12 bands for the reality competition.

Michael and his bandmates ‘  Mickey Bostinto, Ryan Metcalf and Cody Wilson ‘  will face the public vote tonight for the first time.

The show, from the producers of …American Idol, invites the public to vote for their favorite bands. The band with the lowest number of votes will be kicked off every week.

Though Michael and his sister, Jessica, grew up in Florida, his parents ‘  Douglas and Sue ‘  are Lockport natives. His grandparents, Dick and Joan Sheppard and Barbara Palmer, live in Lockport, along with several aunts and uncles……
