Danny Gokey, Jennette McCurdy to Host AMA Red Carpet

Danny is a seasoned veteran at interviewing celebrities prior to awards shows, thanks to his gig last year as host on the orange carpet at the Academy of Country Music Awards. His most memorable celebrity one-on-one was with his own hero, Randy Travis, who he met during his stint on ‘AI.’ “I just interviewed him at the ACMs on the orange carpet, ” Danny recalls to The Boot, “and I said, ‘I don’t know if you remember, Randy, but you were the one that told me to do country music.’ And he said, ‘I do remember … We haven’t had soul like this in a long time in country music. They need you. Country music needs you.’ And I was so blown away. I realize that I’m soulful, but the fact that he said, ‘You could do it, ‘ [was overwhelming], because I listened to country music growing up. And when he said they would accept me, he was right, because that’s what people have responded to.”

Kurt Warner: DWTS Judges Were Too Harsh to Me

Asked about the judges’ scores, he told UsMagazine.com after the show: “It feels like this has happened a couple times now — we come out and we perform what we thought was a good dance and then get scores that aren’t so good. The thing that’s hard is when they make criticism like, ‘It just didn’t work, ‘ because we don’t really know what that means! It’s frustrating because it’s not constructive, and we don’t know what to make of it or how to improve.”

Backstage at DWTS: Jennifer Grey & Derek Hough Blame “Guyliner” for Bad Dancing

“This is what happened tonight, ” Derek told us after the show. “The dance was going well, I told [Jennifer] to get fierce, and she was all in it. And then at the end, this eyeliner got in my eye! Then I flew off and she was off balance and it was a mess. So basically, the moral of the story is don’t wear eyeliner if you’re a guy.” You hear that Adam Lambert?

Defying all the odds, the normally struggling Bristol Palin and her pro-partner Mark Ballas were also rocking the eyeliner/guyliner look, and did much better than last week.

Jennifer Grey Responds To ‘Dancing’ Judges’ Harsh Criticism

Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough tumbled to their lowest spot on the “Dancing with the Stars” leaderboard – fifth place overall – on Monday night, and the “Dirty Dancing” star told Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson why it happened.

“What was going on was that I was having so much adrenaline from the dance and feeling so good and then I had like that teetering over that edge, like loosing my balance [thing happen], ” Jennifer said. “So, that was the crushing disappointment.”

While Jennifer had a few missteps during her paso doble to Pink’s “So What, ” she said the judges’ comments were the toughest part of the night.

Dancing’s Maksim: “I Almost Crapped Myself!”

First of all, what was up with those leather pants? Were they hard to dance in?
It was the most uncomfortable I’ve ever been in my entire life I think, because there’s no breathing. It’s obviously pleather and it was not a pleasant experience. Lets just say that my thighs and above are a little bigger than your average rocker’s so I guess the tight leather pants are just not for me. It’s safe to assume it’s not going to happen again.

Brandy was very emotional this week. Is she going to have a nervous breakdown by the end of the season?
She’s not a weak person. She’s a very strong person and she just expresses certain things her own way. It’s a hard show and a lot goes into it, and girls—I guess that’s what they do. Girls cry. It pains me to see her cry, and I try to be supportive, but it’s very, very difficult when I’m the only one trying to make her do stuff.
