OK! Interview: Kris Allen is Honored by Little Kids Rock

So “Alright With Me” is the next single. Were you aware that the fans were really pushing for that to be single No. 2?
Yea, oh yeah [laughs]. I was excited to see what was going to happen with “The Truth.” I didn’t know what was going to happen. I know a lot of the fans really wanted “Alright With Me, ” but it just became the decision to do “The Truth.” We thought it would be the best thing. And it did what it did. I don’t think you can say that it was unsuccessful. It was fine. I think that the potential that “Alright With Me” has is really good. I think it’s a great song, I think it’s an earworm. I think it gets caught in your head which is all part of it. I love that the fans really love it. When we decided to make it the third single, I hadn’t listened to the track in awhile because that’s part of it. We play it live and it sounds great. I went back and listened to it and was like, “Wow, I really love this track.” That’s why we put it on the album. It’s one of my favorites for sure.

The fans are very excited.
They are really excited.

When you posted that you were about to announce the new single and then you waited like five minutes…
[Laughs] Yeah, that was on purpose. I kept looking at what people were saying: “Is it going to be this?” or “Is it going to be that?” “This is my favorite song.”

Jordin Sparks discusses life on Broadway

NEW YORK – There was a time when Jordin Sparks thought dealing with Simon Cowell was tough. But Cowell was a pushover compared to the rigors of Broadway, which have tested the mettle of this Grammy-nominated songstress who, at age 17, became the youngest-ever winner of “American Idol.”

Vocal strain and an injured hip kept her offstage for several performances soon after making her Broadway debut, in August, in the Tony-winning hit “In the Heights.” But Sparks, now 20, got back on track thanks to physical therapy and her own brand of perky determination.

Working ‘9 to 5’

“I try to give as much as Dolly as I can. I have the accent down and the walk with the little wiggle, but the rest is just me — except for the blond wig and the little bit of stuffing, ” said DeGarmo, who was born in Birmingham. “Unfortunately, I don’t have Dolly’s figure.”

Along with originating the role of Doralee, Parton wrote and performed the film’s hit song “9 to 5, ” which landed at No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart.

“Everyone loves that song, ” DeGarmo said. “It is something everyone can sing along to, and it’s what we open and close the show with.”

Bucky Covington’s road to Nashville came down to convincing just one person. He had impressed millions with his talent and charisma on “American Idol, ” making it to the final eight during the 2006 season, but it was something else that sold him to Sawyer Brown frontman and producer Mark Miller. “There was a quality in his voice that was honest, ” says Miller. “I believed him when he sang.”

VIDEO: Fantasia Candid About Overcoming Stress and Sadness

“After all the stuff that I’ve been through, there comes a time where you either continue to let certain things go on in your life that bring you down… or you stand up and say, ‘Hey, I’m gonna do me. I’m gonna wake up in the morning and do what I feel like, ‘” Fantasia tells ET on the set of her music video for (the fittingly titled) “I’m Doin’ Me.”

Hospitalized in August for an accidental overdose of aspirin and a sleep aid and, prior to that, accused of having an affair with a married man, the 26-year-old singer says she’s gradually finding her way out of the gloom.

“There’s some days where I have to take time for myself and I forgot about so much of that, ” she says. “Music, for me, is what kind of brought me out of the closet of feeling like, ‘I don’t want to deal with people, I don’t wanna deal with this, I don’t wanna deal with that…”

Jane Lynch ‘Felt Difference’ Immediately After Marriage

Jane Lynch left Sue Sylvester’s wardrobe of tracksuits back on the ‘Glee’ set and instead dons a leopard print robe while surrounded by male models for her spread in the November issue of More magazine, where she sounds off on her hit FOX show and her marriage to Lara Embry.

The Emmy-winning actress was already committed to two other series (Starz’s ‘Party Down’ and an ABC project) when she was offered the role of Sue on ‘Glee.’ Believe it or not, this meant that for the first four episodes of the series, Lynch’s status was temporary. “We were keeping our fingers crossed that I got to stay, ” she says.

At 50, Lynch also reflects on her recent marriage: “I shouldn’t say this, but I’d never dated anyone that I wanted to marry. I didn’t think it was going to be out there for me. But the minute we were married, I felt the difference: I felt like I am no longer alone.”

Lea Michele’s Movie Debut: Happy New Year!

The Glee star is in final talks to make her movie debut in New Year’s Eve, the follow-up to Garry Marshall’s mega-ensemble hit Valentine’s Day. No word yet on Michele’s character or storyline, but sources tell me that Marshall wants her big-time.

I’m also told the director’s going after Zac Efron—again. The Charlie St. Cloud actor had been approached for Valentine’s Day to play the role that eventually went to Taylor Lautner.
