Best Buy Mobile, the GRAMMY Foundation® and Cricket’s Muve Music Make Donation & Surprise Chicago-Area Students with Visit from Daughtry
Cricket to donate $10, 000 to John F. Kennedy High School in Chicago, IL. As a special surprise for students, Best Buy Mobile, Cricket Communications and the GRAMMY Foundation arranged for a visit from multi-platinum rock band, Daughtry, to speak to the importance of [music] education. Daughtry will also be at the North Avenue Best Buy Store in Chicago this evening for a special live performance of their upcoming album, Break The Spell. The album will be available for download on Cricket’s Muve Music November 21.
“Music has always been a part of our life and it’s important that we work with partners in the community, like Best Buy Mobile, Cricket and the GRAMMY Foundation to keep the arts programs alive, ” said lead singer Chris Daughtry of their visit and speech to JFK High School in Chicago. “It was great to speak with the students and share our passion for music.”

Nevertheless, even his co-judge L.A. Reid was asked to answer to Cowell’s failed declaration on a press call held on Thursday.
“That’s a statement that Simon put out there and I think it was an aspirational statement, ” Reid tells reporters. “And I hope that at some point we can get there. I’m not disappointed that we’re not there.”
