Lauren Alaina talks about her grandmother and ‘The Locket’

In The Locket, perhaps the most poignant song on Lauren Alaina’s Wildflower album, a young woman recounts her grandparents’ touching love story. Written by Mallary Hope, it traces the relationship from front-porch courting through World War II and decades beyond.

Only at the end does the listener realize that the young woman is relating the story to her grandmother, trying to help her remember the great love of her life, even as Alzheimer’s disease steals those memories away from her.

OFFSTAGE: Lauren Alaina on Facebook Boyfriends

“I think it’s embarrassing to be Facebook official, to be completely honest, ” she told CMT Radio. “Because when you’re a teenager, you have a boyfriend and can break up the next week, and if you make it Facebook official you look like an idiot when you have a boyfriend one day, and the next day it’s gone. And if you’re gonna put ‘in a relationship, ‘ don’t tag the person on it. Just put ‘in a relationship!’ That way, people know you’re in a relationship.”

HAPPY KELLY CLARKSON IN CONTROL

She told me: “I think that’s why we kind of went with the whole Stronger theme because it’s the first time everybody working around me and at the record company really agreed and worked together really well. More people are comfortable and know me better and I know them better.

“It feels good. I feel the thing I’m most proud of is that I’ve always done what I wanted and that’s been really hard in the past.

“I’ve had to earn their trust and now I’m saying: ‘I’ve written you a lot of No1s, OK, I’m not just a one-hit wonder here.’” Stronger is a feelgood record that will have fans punching the air with glee.

Marc Anthony’s alleged jealousy of Jennifer Lopez’s fame caused split

Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony carefully worked out their divorce in a civil manner, but a few details have surfaced shedding light on the real reasons for the couple’s surprise split.

A big sticking point apparently was Anthony’s desire to live in South America, where his stardom largely eclipses J. Lo’s. Lopez, perhaps not surprisingly, had no intention of living there for a minimum of six months as her husband was demanding.

‘Glee”s Heather Morris Kissed A Girl And She Liked It

Ever since she deadpanned that line about her cat reading her diary, we’ve been crazy in love with “Glee”‘s Heather Morris—a fab comic actress and probably the brightest dim bulb on television. But even though she’s best known for playing a character who’s not the sharpest tool in the shed, Heather the real-life lady is an articulate and down-to-earth sort of girl.

“Yes, I dislocated my shoulder, ” Derek confirmed to us after the show. “This week it was bothering me a little bit. I had pain in my neck and I was overcompensating and it went into my shoulder.”

But fear not, Hough fans. Derek insists the injury won’t keep him from the ballroom. “I’ll be fine. It happens in dancing. You move on.”

What also happens? Sometimes you just freeze, sadly, if you’re Chynna Phillips. And she paid the price tonight for doing just that, getting the boot despite her standing as a front-runner.

Julianne Hough Dishes on Boyfriend Ryan Seacrest’s Reax to Footloose Remake

We don’t blame Ryan Seacrest for covering his eyes during a portion of the new Footloose flick.

Sure, he wants to see girlfriend Julianne Hough, who stars in the movie as rebellious high schooler Ariel Moore, on the big screen, but…

There’s a scene in which Hough gets roughed up by her racecar driver boyfriend (Patrick John Flueger).

“Ryan saw it and said, ‘I can’t watch that, ‘” Hough told me yesterday while promoting the movie at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills. “He was like, ‘When he hits you I just want to punch the screen…When I see you pull some of those faces, those are the faces that I see, so you know so it’s hard for me to watch.'”
