Last week, Emily (Glamour’s e-style intern) and I made our way to Manhattan Center to celebrate the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S3, an event that was being hosted by Smash star Katharine McPhee. Oh, and M83 performed, which was absolutely incredible. Seriously. Carly Rae Jepsen Was ‘Supposed to Write a Folk Album’: Video – Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe” is the Summer song that nearly never was. The bubbly Canadian went into the recording studio thinking she was “supposed to write a folk album.” “But I didn’t want to,” Jepsen told us on the set of her recent Walmart Soundcheck taping. “I wanted to write a pop album. And everyday I’d go into the studio with every intention of writing a folk album, and I’d have all these pop ideas. At one point I threw my hands in the air and said, ‘Well this is what I want to do. Justin Bieber: ‘X Factor USA used me for ratings’ – Bieber signed up to help LA Reid choose his favorite contestants in the Over 25s category at the Judges’ Houses stage of the competition. However, last night’s (October 10) episode focused on Demi Lovato’s Young Adults and Simon Cowell’s Groups, meaning that Bieber’s time with Reid did not feature heavily. On hearing the news, Bieber complained about the decision on his Twitter page. “heard we got used for ratings according to twitter and we arent even on until tomorrow (sic)?” he wrote. “@xfactorusa could of just told us.” – Read more at Digital Spy

‘X Factor’ Housing Crisis: Show Accused of Fudging Home Visits (Video) – A spokesperson for the show admitted Thursday that the residences presented as the homes of “X Factor” judges Simon Cowell and Britney Spears are “not necessarily” their actual residences. “The ‘Judges Homes’ part of the show is filmed in a house of the judges’ choice, not necessarily the judges’ own homes,” reps for “The X Factor” told TheWrap. The statement comes on the heels of a report from TMZ that “Cowell’s” house is actually the Miami home of New York Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez, while Spears actually lives in Calabasas, Calif., and not Malibu, as the segment suggested. – Read more at The Wrap

‘Glee’s Chris Colfer Signs With ICM Partners – ICM Partners has signed Chris Colfer, the Glee star who is branching out into writing and producing. Colfer won a Golden Globe for his role as Kurt Hummel on Glee, and he has twice been nominated for an Emmy. Colfer made his feature film debut in Struck By Lightning, which Colfer scripted and executive produced. The film premiered at Tribeca, and ICM Partners packaged the film and sold the North American rights to Tribeca Films, and international rights to Lightning Entertainment. – Read more at Deadline
