NICK JONAS AND TONY AWARD WINNER BERNADETTE PETERS TO GUEST STAR ON NBC’S MIDSEASON MUSICAL DRAMA “SMASH”
NEW YORK – October 6, 2011 – Popular recording artist Nick Jonas (“Jonas”) and two-time Tony Award winner Bernadette Peters (“Gypsy”) will guest star in NBC’s new musical drama “Smash, ” which will air on Mondays at 10-11 p.m. ET beginning February 6. Both actors will sing in the respective episodes in which they appear.
Jonas will be playing Lyle West, a hot sitcom star who started his career as a child actor in a Broadway show written by Tom (Christian Borle) and directed by Derek (Jack Davenport), Peters makes an appearance as Leigh Conroy, Ivy’s (Megan Hilty) Tony award-winning mother who was once a theater sensation but now lives vicariously through her daughter.

Marine veteran, ‘Idol’ finalist looking forward to salute to troops
As both a country singer and a U.S. Marine veteran, Josh Gracin understands the importance of nights such as A Call to Remembrance, taking place Saturday night at the i wireless Center in Moline.
“It definitely means a lot, ” Gracin said in a telephone interview from his Nashville home. “Whenever they’re deployed and away from home for a while, there’s a feeling that everyone’s far away from them and no one cares.
“That’s definitely important, knowing there are people out there who care, ” he added.

Lopez has called the original Funny Girl star her “absolute idol” and credits her return to music to singing one of Streisand’s signature songs, “My Man, ” to Marc Anthony for his 40th birthday last year.

“X-Factor” Contestant – Pressing On After Father Dies
42-year-old “X-Factor” contestant and single mom Stacy Francis was rocked to the core two weeks ago — after learning her father had died — but after an agonizing inner struggle, she’s decided to continue with the show.
Stacy made it to round two last month — receiving unanimous approval from the judges for her blowout audition (below) — but soon after launching into the “X-Factor” boot camp, she received news her father had unexpectedly passed.
