HONOLULU — Musician Chris Daughtry and his band were in Honolulu Friday night to perform at the Kakaako Waterfront Park Amphitheater.

More than 5, 000 concertgoers were expected to attend the outdoor event.

The state is not charging the band or concert promoter use of the park because the promoter agreed to donate to a charter school in Kakaako.

Crystal Bowresox talks on AJ in the morning. Listen here:

AJ in the Morning

– Crystal is keeping her wedding very simple, no extravagant weddings for her.
– Though the wedding seems to have been quick, she said Brian has been her best friend and they’ve known each other for six years.
– She is not going to move from one relationship to another. She has a kid to look out for and shes not “that kind” of mom.
– Explains @girlup campaign which holds dear to her heart now is basically empowering American girls to help out other girls in underprivileged nations. www.girlup.org for more info
– Didn’t specify the date for her debut in this interview but says a compromise will be done between black Friday and spring release.
– Is quite knowledgeable about the AI formula (3 month gap) but says it doesn’t work for her cos she doesn’t feel like the typical American Idol.
– Swears on her IUD that shes not pregnant.

Ficticiousreality sent the link and pretty much wrote the summary. thank you.

Archuleta Expresses His Inner Dork on “Other Side”

Although he’s been singing since he was 6, the 19-year-old Utah native has projected a mature voice wise beyond his years, as evidenced during Season 7 of “American Idol, ” when his ballad-ready tenor landed him the runner-up spot behind rocker David Cook.

His 2008 self-titled debut album also highlighted the power of Archuleta’s voice and went on to sell 762, 000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan. But the effort failed to capture his teenage spirit, save for the age-appropriate breakout single “Crush, ” which has sold 1.9 million and peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.

On the cusp of his twenties, David Archuleta grows up musically

On David Archuleta’s 1998 debut album, he helped write only two of the songs. On the singer’s newest album, “The Other Side of Down, ” he co-wrote all but two of the songs.

“I’ve grown a lot both writing and having the song go in the direction I want it to go, ” said the Murray native whose new album of original music will be in stores on Tuesday. (Archuleta also released a Christmas album in 2009.) “I know who I want to work with, rather than having people telling me who to work with.”

Carrie Underwood biographer talks about her new book

Vernell spent about a year working on the biography, approximately two-thirds of it doing research. She started in the archives of the Country Music Foundation, inside the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. She also went to The Tulsa World newspaper offices in Oklahoma.

“I looked for any stories they had starting a couple years before she went on American Idol, because I knew she was playing around there, ” says Vernell, a Nashville-based author and entertainment journalist. “I figured since she was a hometown girl, they were going to writer about her, and they did.”

The groups are in Spain with Simon Cowell, the over-28s are in Ireland with Louis Walsh and the girls are in Ascot with Cheryl Cole.

But it is the boys who have the longest trip – jetting off to join Dannii Minogue in Australia.

The singer, who missed some of the earlier rounds after giving birth to her first child Ethan, was joined by fellow Aussie Natalie Imbruglia to put the boys through their paces.

Cole teamed up with Black Eyed Peas frontman will.i.am, Sinitta joined Cowell and Sharon Osbourne joined Walsh. The judges have to find three acts to send to the next round but soon discover it is not going to be easy.

That ’80s show

NEW YORK — At the stage door of the Brooks Atkinson Theatre in Times Square, an intriguingly motley crowd has assembled. Waiting for the stars of the hit jukebox musical “Rock of Ages’’ to emerge from a Tuesday night performance, some patrons look like they could have come straight from a hard rock show in their just-so raggedy jeans, concert T’s, and long hair. A cluster of middle-aged women, dressed as if to go clubbing in satiny tank tops and miniskirts, abuts a cheerful teen girl and her mom. Then there’s the well-heeled, gray-haired crowd more typical of the Great White Way, sporting pressed suits and matronly dresses and buzzing over glimpses of star Constantine Maroulis as the stage door occasionally swings open to reveal a meet-and-greet backstage.
