Walsh: ‘Leaked X Factor list is wrong’

Louis Walsh has claimed that the leaked X Factor final 12 list is not accurate.

A list of the acts who have made the cut for the live shows was accidentally published on a TV listings page earlier this week, backing up a rumored lineup that has been circulating on X Factor forums.

However, speaking on ITV1’s Daybreak this morning, judge Louis Walsh insisted that the leaked names were incorrect. “There’s something on the internet saying these are the finalists. That list is wrong, it’s not the right list, ” he said. “I know the final line-up, and that’s not right.”

Michael Bolton: Bruno Tonioli Should Do Some Soul-Searching

Michael Bolton is still a fan of Dancing with the Stars. But after judge Bruno Tonioli’s “mean-spirited” critique of the singer’s dance number Monday, Bolton has a message for the judge: “Bruno should search his soul for what he is doing on that show.”

“I don’t wish to pressure the show … I don’t blame them. Nor do I wish ABC to put any pressure on him. I think it’s a personal epiphany [Bruno] may have to have, ” says Bolton. “I asked for it in one interview and I felt he should express a public apology to me. I think asking once is enough, and I don’t want my friends, fans and supporters to ask for it. It is what it is.”

“I own responsibility for not getting the scores that we needed the second week and I don’t want people to think I’m saying we would have won the show or something if it weren’t for Bruno, ” says the singer who was partnered with professional dancer Chelsie Hightower.

“Bruno is on the show to speak his mind and to be brutally honest, ” she says. “He’s Bruno, that’s why we love him.”

She added, “It’s been an intense week. Between Sarah Palin and Bruno, it’s been intense.”

Even if Steven doesn’t pan out as a good judge, he’ll at least bring in some interesting news. :) Looking forward to it.

Cool about the David A. phone app.

  2. I don’t remember Ruben beating Clay as shocking at all. Wasn’t Ruben the front runner much of that season? That’s how I remember it

I don’t remember Ruben beating Clay as shocking at all. Wasn’t Ruben the front runner much of that season? That’s how I remember it

I wasn’t a crazy Idol fanatic at that time, but I seem to remember it being a shock that Ruben won. Clay really seemed to me to be the frontrunner from what I’d seen.

  4. I don’t remember Ruben beating Clay as shocking at all. Wasn’t Ruben the front runner much of that season? That’s how I remember it

I don’t remember much, I’ve brain dumped that info, I only Ruben’s 205 shirts. LOL

  5. Reminder:

There’s a HUGE discussion going on in the morning thread about the Billboard/awards article. We don’t need a re-post of the article here.

  7. Hilarious. I recall rooting for Ruben, maybe because he seemed heartwarming? I wasn’t in the AI online community back then, so I may be way off. But, from this casual viewer’s standpoint, it felt like a triumph when Ruben won (though, looking back, Clay definitely deserved it).

  8. season 2 was very similar to the recent seasons (kris/adam with adam having a large fanbase online, kris not so much, etc). clay had the biggest fan base — ruben’s were hidden, kinda. If I remember correctly, Ruben ALWAYS had positive comments (feel free to prove me wrong), clay had it once or twice (RE: Grease song).

  9. But, from this casual viewer’s standpoint, it felt like a triumph when Ruben won (though, looking back, Clay definitely deserved it).

Seven years after the fact, and Ruben STILL isn’t allowed to be the Idol champ in peace. Lovely.

  10. Danny is performing tonight at a fundraiser for breast cancer, along with his labelmate Chuck Wicks, and Jaron with the weird name, lol. A musician working with Chuck was tweeting yesterday that they were going to be hopping a ride on Danny’s bus; not sure if that includes Chuck himself, but possibly.

    Looks like a fun event.

When I first saw the IEBA event, I didn’t realize what they were buying. Thought it might be clothes or tomatoes or just anything, lol. But it’s actually a trade group of entertainment buyers, probably a good audience for Danny to perform for live. His team has done really well getting him in front of industry audiences like that.

IEBA was founded in 1970 as a non-profit trade organization for talent buyers, concert promoters, agents, managers, artists and other related entertainment professionals. IEBA provides networking, showcasing and educational opportunities to strengthen relationships, foster growth and increase revenue for the live entertainment industry. IEBA is known for showcasing the best and brightest talent in all genres of music and all fields of entertainment—exposing buyers to the freshest acts for the buying season. IEBA is an intimate organization that makes a huge impact. At IEBA … The Buying Starts Here.

  11. Sounds like Kris may be getting another single…

calevis24 (for the few of you who might not know, Cale is in Kris’ band & is one of his best friends from back home)

#@S1ngPianoGuitar I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t recently heard plans of a third single :) that’s all I’m saying you little rascals! 1 minute ago via web in reply to S1ngPianoGuitar

  12. mj: Sorry I had not read the morning headlines thread until after I posted that comment.

Good news about Kris getting a 3rd single. IMO Jive owes him a free MV — not that they are likely to do it but…..they owe him.

  13. ahh, Cale’s tweet, and the picture of a happy Indonesian girl meeting Adam in the Bali airport after what seems to have been a succesfully uninterupted vacay made for nice return to following idol news after two weeks away. Not to mention what sounds like potentially good jlo/styler/randy interactions. Ready to start playing what’s the single, and to watch videos of glam nation japan…

  14. Dare I get excited about a third single for Kris? Dare I hope it would be AWM?

    Yeah, probably not.

  15. MJ,
I just wanted to send you a shout out of appreciation tonight. The overall threads today have been pure enjoyment. Out of all of the idol blogs, I enjoy yours the most.

Thank you to the people posting comments as well! You’re all a well informed and opinionated bunch and I wouldn’t have it any other way! LOL

  16. frogcooke.. lmao! oh my gosh!! SQUIRREL! first thing that came to mind was the UP movie.. lol all the woodland creatures are gonna be nibbling on his toes if he keeps feeding them. LOL

  17. david the crazy squirrel guy.. lol if it had been me, i’d be just as nutty. i don’t know about you guys, but i’ve never been that close to a squirrel and i think it would be cool.. until i freak out and think it might eat my face or something.. unpredictable squirrels! those things are fast!

  18. lol I got really close to one a few weeks ago, sticking my hand out with my phone cam. to take a pic. They can get close in my park. But then it like go up to them slowly too haha.

  19. i think i’m afraid of squirrels.. lol ..especially the ones that semi fly.. oh geez! am i having a slow night or what?! now i can’t stop thinking about squirrels.. haha!

  20. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah . . .yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Can’t wait for Alright With Me.

  21. Looks like Danny was the closing act for the PajamaJam concert in Virginia. Someone tweeting from the scene mentioned Jaron+weird-name coming on first, then Chuck Wicks, then Danny.

Pajama jam rocks! #fightlikeagirl fight breast cancer!

Danny gokey sound amazing in person. He’s cute too.

  22. Possible third single for Kris? EEEEE! Sorry, had to fangurl squee for a second there. And I know it’s not how it works in the real world, and if he does get a third single, it’s a gift, but it feels to me like a nice payback for being the good corporate kid and having TT as his last single. When clearly he was kind of ambivalent about it, and there were better choices for summer songs on his album. Will it be AWM this time? Or maybe WAOMF? hmmm.

It’s nice to be able to speculate about a possible Kris single again.

Oh, and dear Michael Bolton, please build a bridge and get the hell over it.

  23. oh loving the news about a potential 3rd single for Kris!! I hope they go fast on this one so he can promote it on his 28 dates with Lifehouse. As to what it will be.. we have speculated so much on the subject! I love AWM and wish it would be the next one but i don’t know how it would do on pop; maybe it would do well since it’s refreshingly different from what we hear or maybe it just wouldn’t do well for being too different. Anyhow I think a mv would be great with a live performance and people singing the yay yay yay yay!
I wonder also if it could be a brand new song

  24. OMG…the video of Archie….and his school memories…the ADD…and the squirrel!! Sooooo sweet and funny! Can he be any cuter? Especially loved the very end….”he’s crazy!”

Reminded me of that video with Cook where he says that Archie has a “dry wit”. LOL

  25. My cynical heart says the third single will be the only other song not written or co-written by Kris, WAOMF, but maybe they won’t release 2 Script songs. Although with the Script (rightfully, not maligning them) being mentioned as a BNA nominee, WAOMF could be another Truth-like corporate cross promo decision. Gah! No oddly positioned cameos please. Anyway, we’ve had the discussion many times, I know but it’s fun. And who knows, Cale could be wrong and unaware of the fan firestorm of hope he started. If they are doing this, just please do it fast, for the next set of concerts. Or why bother…

  26. Here I am, commenting on the evening edition the next morning. Oh well. That David and Almond the Squirrel video is hilarious. And his mention of ADD just sort of clicked something in my mind. One of my daughters’ friends who won all of our hearts (everyone in my family’s, that is) forever was diagnosed with ADD in sixth grade. She was bright, funny, artistic, creative … they spent hours and hours role playing Sailor Moon and she was an accomplished jazz dancer.

When Billboard lists all of the milestones that LLWD hit, including 1.5 million copies sold, they don’t put an asterisk beside it pointing out that it was co-written by two members of the Script. Just like Whataya Want From Me isn’t called a P!ink song. The Truth hardly worked as cross promotion, not only because it didn’t go anywhere, but because nobody knows who Pat Monohan is. WAOMF is a good song, and radio friendly, both of which matter a lot more than who wrote it.

  28. If you were to ask me the #1 most traumatic moment on the Idol Forums, it was when Ruben sqeaked by Clay with about .015% of the vote. OMG, there were one million people on the Boards that night! No one could believe it. I won’t even go through all the problems with the Claymates and the phone lines. The discussion went on for weeks. People wrote the FCC, and complained to the phone company.

What later justified the debate was when Nigel revealed (before Season 5) that Clay Aiken led all contestants in votes from the Wild Card round up to the Finale. Ruben (good guy) was in the Bottom Three twice. One week Kimberly Locke actually had more votes than he did. The judges were pulling for a Ruben win, but it wasn’t the best victory for him.

It is cool that they have been on tour together in recent weeks.

EDIT: It was much worse than when Kris beat Adam. There were more participants on the Forum back then!

  29. Loving the Kris news from abroad, and the positive reactions to his visits. I’m not going to play the second-guessing game on his 3rd single. I’m just going to hope that Jive has learned their lesson and will let Kris make the decisions on this one. I think he knows himself, his band, and his audience better than anyone.

On that shocking moments in reality TV article, I just rolled my eyes. I don’t think I’d pick any of them. The Ruben/Clay thing? I think the bigger shock was that Clay came so close in the final votes. Ruben was definitely the front runner. Crazy online fanbases do not trump reality no matter how hard they try.

  30. Ditto, TwigLA. So proud of Kris. He really seems to have his priorities straight.

  31. Ruben (good guy) was in the Bottom Three twice.

Just a slight correction: Ruben was only in the B2 once, during Top 5 week.

And Clay wasn’t labeled the bad guy, but more of the nerdy guy with Ruben casted as the quietly cool dude.

To this day, I still can’t believe how much garbage was thrown Ruben’s way over his win. Last time I checked, he didn’t push anyone’s grandma in front of a speeding car to become Idol champ. Makes one wonder if the fame and money is worth it if you’re going to have people hate you for winning a two-bit talent show.

What does that mean? It wasn’t the best victory for him. He won!

clay had the biggest fan base — ruben’s were hidden, kinda

    How was that proven?

Makes one wonder if the fame and money is worth it if you’re going to have people hate you for winning a two-bit talent show.

Ruben is a well balanced guy, I think he knows what winning idol meant to him, even though Clay over shadowed him over the years. In retrospect, and how both of their careers are perceived I think he came out alright. At least he is not looked upon as a joke.

I was a fan of both at the beginning of the season, always preferred Ruben simply because he sang a genre I was interested in. I never knew where Clay would end up because he wasn’t a pop singer.

Finally, this quote of Nigel’s that keeps cropping up is so taken out of context, or Clay lost alot of supporters towards the end of the season. On top three night, each of the contests we were told were separated by less that a full percentage point. So that means aproximately 33 percent each. Next week Kim gets booted. That the final result was so close wasn’t surprising. Since the viewers were never told the numbers, Ruben was always the front-runner in the court of public opinion. The way the fans behaved on both sides was bad, but the whole lawsuit thing was the most extreme crap I’d ever seen after the end of a season. It was reprehensible. I was sorta glad that they toured together this year, because it finally gave Clay’s fans a chance to see this guy they ridiculed so long. That he could be toe to toe with Clay, and actually be just as good, and just as versatile, if not more versatile than Clay must have been an eye opener, I am sure.
