‘Idol’ contestant plays for students
“American Idol” contestant Tim Halperin gave Westside Middle School students a dose of reality Friday morning.
Fame, glory, money — all the things kids daydream about in class — shouldn’t be what’s important. Instead, he said, students should be true to who they are.
Halperin, on “Idol” last season, told an auditorium full of seventh graders to “do what you love and follow your dream.”
For the 23-year-old Halperin, that meant producing music even when he wasn’t sure if anyone would listen after his reality TV exposure died down. He made it to the show’s top 24 but was voted off shortly after that.
Halperin releases his first full-length debut album, titled “Rise & Fall, ” on Tuesday.

But asked if the payments included more than one girlfriend, the 51-year-old replied: “Probably yeah. You can’t have somebody in your life who’s become accustomed to a certain thing, and just because you don’t want to be in the relationship any more say to them, no everything is cut off.”
He added: “It’s not alimony. It’s, I believe, doing the right thing. That comes back to me wanting them to be happy, you just can’t do it too many times.”

Siameze Floyd — who exploded on the “X Factor” stage this week in a fishnet t-shirt — has two huge secrets he didn’t share on the show … 1) he was raised in a polyamorist family, 2) he and his FIVE parents are putting together a reality show.
If you were lucky enough to catch Siameze’s “X Factor” audition Wednesday night (below), it’s probably not surprising … but the promo for his family’s new show — tentatively titled “The Fabulous Floyds” — is hilarious.

Cee Lo Green joins ‘Sparkle’ cast, while R. Kelly signs on for soundtrack
The big-screen remake of the 1976 film Sparkle just got a bit, er, more sparkly. EW has confirmed that Cee Lo Green, the Grammy-winning multi-platinum R&B singer and mentor on NBC’s The Voice, has joined the cast, which includes American Idol winner Jordin Sparks in the title role of an aspiring music star, and Whitney Houston as her mother.
