Kris Allen inducted into the Arkansas Entertainers Hall of Fame

Kris Allen will be inducted into the Arkansas Entertainers Hall of Fame tonight, along with Lisa Blount, Jim “Moose” Brown, Barbara Fairchild, Albert King, George Newbern, Mark Sallings, Jerry McKinnis and Charles Pierce.

The ceremony will take place at the Governor’s Mansion in Little Rock at 6:45 pm.

Bo Bice, Diana DeGarmo, Ace Young at Georgia Music Hall of Fame ceremonies this weekend

With music manager Charlie Brusco (Styx, Lynyrd Skynyrd) getting named to the Georgia Music Hall of Fame this year, Bo Bice and Ace Young will perform in an all-star band at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre Saturday night.

Brusco is Bice’s former manager. I think he still reps Ace but I’m not 100% sure.

Diana DeGarmo is going to introduce the Horizon Award, which she has received herself in the past.

The David Archuleta fansite, Fans Of David, are reporting that, according to Team Leader Pecan Pie, the Stand Up To Cancer fundraising team, Crush Kids will be announced as the co-winners, with the Survivor team live on the SU2C telethon Friday night, broadcast across multiple networks. Both teams raised close to 30K to benefit the fight against cancer.

David Archuleta will be there answering phones, but according to the team leader, “All I can say is, if things do go according to plan, your only regret would be missing this show! You’ve been warned people!”  The SU2C telethon begins at 8 pm Friday night, and will be broadcast on many network and cable stations.

DeWyze drops by track to promote Sept. 24 concert

Lee DeWyze swung by Arlington Park on Sunday to film footage for the next season of “American Idol.” While he was there, he also shot a few promotional videos for his upcoming concert at the track on Sept. 24.

His parents, Kathy and Lee Sr, his siblings and a host of friends joined DeWyze at the track, which was his first real concert venue.

Constantine Maroulis Departs Broadway’s Rock of Ages Sept. 9

Tony Award nominee Constantine Maroulis plays his final performance as Drew in Broadway’s Rock of Ages Sept. 9 before heading the national tour of that Tony-nominated musical, which launches Sept. 21 in Chicago.

Maroulis, an “American Idol” finalist, was Tony-nominated for his performance in Rock. Joey Taranto, who made his Broadway debut in Rock of Ages, will succeed Maroulis at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre beginning Sept. 10.

Ruben Studdard to guest on new Fourplay CD

Ruben Studdard will sing a cover of Teddy Pendergrass’ 1980 R&B hit Love T.K.O. on the forthcoming album from contemporary jazz supergroup Fourplay.

The Studdard/Fourplay came about as the result of the two acts sharing a bill at a Washington, D.C., concert that was taped for a TV special.

Bo Bice – Nashville Jerry Lewis telethon

Bo Bice was on hand during Nashville’s MDA Telethon Monday to help Kevin Frye present a check to Jerry’s Kids in the amount of $10, 000. Proceeds were raised during the recent ‘Music By The Lake’ MDA Day concert event held in Winchester, TN (8/21) where Bice headlined.

Assisting them with the check presentation were Franklin County Kiwanis Club Members Brenda Long and Jeannie Bates. For several years, Kevin has been the driving force for MDA awareness and fund-raising in Franklin County. His efforts have raised many thousands of dollars.

No idle time for ‘Idol’ contestant Dave Archuleta

On his upcoming third release, The Other Side of Down, due in stores Oct. 5, Dave Archuleta has a song he wrote called “Elevator, ” that was inspired by a dream he had recently.

“In my dream there’s a huge building with all these different floors and elevators going to different places, and I didn’t know which floor to get off at, ” says the 19-year-old singer, who performs Sunday at the Delta Fair & Music Festival. “The song is just reflective of life. How there’s so many different decisions, so many different things that can happen to you in your life. They may not always make sense, and it can be really confusing at times. But it’s an endless ride. Sometimes it takes you up. Sometimes it takes you down. But it’s the butterflies that keeping you feeling so alive.”

Katy Perry Plans Duet With Cheryl Cole at Simon Cowell’s Wedding

And now Perry is keen to collaborate with the Girls Aloud star when Cowell finally walks down the aisle with Mezhgan Hussainy. She tells Britain’s Now magazine, “I’d love to perform with Cheryl and I think a great time to do it would be at Simon’s wedding – what else do you get the man who has everything?”

Bristol Palin bans Levi Johnston from ‘Dancing With the Stars’ set: report

As Bristol Palin prepares for her “Dancing With the Stars” debut she made clear that she does not want ex-fiance Levi Johnston in the audience of the reality show, PopEater reported Wednesday.

“The last thing in the world Bristol wants is to look up from her cha-cha-cha and see his big goofy grin looking at her, ” a family friend told the Hollywood gossip website.

“This is her time to shine and she doesn’t want him trying to steal her spotlight, ” the Palin family insider added.
