Jordin Sparks hurt her hip at the Saturday night show of Broadway’s In The Heights and has been sidelined since. Good news, she’s returning to the show tonight. She tweets, “My hip is better & Im back in 2night!! SO happy! Ive been going crazy not performing! Thx so much 4 the prayers! Cant wait 2 see you all! :)”

Carrie Underwood to Appear on Upcoming Loretta Lynn Tribute Album

According to Musicrow.com, Carrie Underwood will contribute a track to an upcoming Loretta Lynn tribute album, due to drop on November 9.

Loretta Lynn personally chose the artists who will record tracks for Coal Miner’s Daughter: A Tribute to Loretta Lynn.

Also appearing:  Sheryl Crow, Steve Earle, Faith Hill, Alan Jackson, Kid Rock, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride, Allison Moorer, Paramore, Reba,   The White Stripes, Lucinda Williams, Gretchen Wilson, and Lee Ann Womack..

No word yet on which classic Loretta Lynn tune Carrie will be covering,   additional details will be announced soon.

Season 9 Top 12 contestant, Lacey Brown, tweeted some news this morning, “So Twitter world: I have a huge announecment that is important to me!!! I’m moving to Nasville!..until the end of the year!!! It’s exciting”. She added, “But don’t worry Atown, my lovely hometown I’ll be in an out just as much as I always am!!! Love you Amarillo”

Does It Really Matter If Talent Shows Are Auto-Tuned?

Honestly, the idea of a singing competition kind of seems quaint and even a little archaic in 2010. After all, this is an age when most pop stars dominating the charts depend on studio trickery to make decent-sounding albums and on lip-synching to pull off decent concerts. Even megastar Kanye West released an entire Auto-Tuned album, 808’s & Heartbreak, that sounded like a spoken-word CD by Stephen Hawking, and one pop star, T-Pain, has built a multimillion-dollar empire (including an Auto-Tune-themed iPhone app) out of not being able to sing and not even trying to convince anyone that he can.

Critic’s Notebook: ‘Dancing With the Stars’ looks for buzz with its new lineup

The big news, of course is Bristol Palin, daughter of former Alaska governor, former vice presidential candidate and current Fox News commentator Sarah Palin. Upon first glance, Bristol does not possess even the slightest, most cobwebby version of stardom (not to mention any hint of hidden dance talent). But if you squint hard enough at the great messy blur that passes for culture these days, if you stop trying to force people into your close-minded retro categories (like a trained actor and guy who just happens to land on a reality show), if you just surrender to the new system of socio-politainment, you will realize that she has been starring in her own very high-profile reality series for a few years. Which means Bristol Palin actually outranks Audrina Patridge and The Situation in terms of viewership and buzzability.

Ready, OK!: Celebs Prepare to Hit It on ‘Dancing with the Stars’

“Dancing with the Stars” cast members from seasons past and present boogied on over to OK! Magazine’s fifth anniversary party in Hollywood on Wednesday night. They gushed about the ballroom blitz that is about to heat up the dance floor in just a few short weeks.

Partnerships were announced Wednesday morning. With the secret now out in the open, Corky Ballas and Tony Dovolani had nothing but wonderful things to say about their leading ladies. Corky called Florence Henderson “America’s beautiful mom.”
