Idol Headlines for 08/30/11

Idols Live at Cumberland County Civic Center, in Portland ME. Show begins at 7 pm.

According to Scotty McCreery’s father, via twitter, Scotty’s single “The Trouble With Girls” will be available on iTunes late tomorrow night.

Scotty McCreery returns to the Grand Ole Opry on October 11. See the schedule Here. He joins Dierks Bentley, Sara Evans, Eric Church and Montgomery Gentry.

Carrie Underwood also returns to the Opry on October 4, joining  Randy Travis, Josh Turner, John Anderson, Craig Morgan, Gene Watson, Steve Wariner, and Eamonn McCrystal. Carrie, Josh, Eamonn McCrystal and John Anderson have all sung duets with Randy, so it could be a night full of duets!

Kelly Clarkson will officially debut her single “Mr. Know it All” at 5:30 pm EDT tonight on her official website.

According to Joey Guerra of the Houston Chronicle, there is a press conference today with the Idol judges and Ryan Seacrest. The Idol crew is in the Houston area for the American Idol 11 judges round auditions.

Scotty McCreery will perform for the QDR Country for Kids concert in Durham North Carolina on Wednesday, November 30th. He’ll join Brantley Gilbert, David Nail, Jerrod Niemann and Jason Michael Carroll.  Tickets start at $50 with proceeds going to the NC Children’s Hospital. More information HERE.

Scotty McCreery will be touring Maine with his family today.  Last night he tweeted,   “Gonna go tour around Maine with mom and dad tomorrow and check out where my dad grew up.

Ron Artest to donate money earned on ‘Dancing With the Stars’ to cancer research

It wasn’t just a case of Artest being unable to say no to his daughter. At age 4 in 2007, Diamond was diagnosed with wilms tumor, Artest said, a kidney cancer that affects children. So in honor of his daughter successfully fighting the illness, Artest said he plans to donate the money he earns on “Dancing with the Stars” to the Cancer Research Foundation.

That will include the $125, 000 Artest said he’s making for appearing on the show beginning Sept. 19 and any additional money he earns should he advance in each round.
