Fantasia Rumored to Have Lost Film Role

For months, Fantasia was rumored to be pregnant. After confirming those news stories earlier this month, the singer is now reportedly on medical leave. The American Idol champion was scheduled to perform at the Bronner Brothers International Hair Show in Atlanta this weekend, but has backed out of the gig per doctors instructions. The company wrote the following on Facebook: “Due to medical conditions, Fantasia has been placed on bed rest and will not be performing at the show. However, the lovely and talented Kelly Price is now scheduled to be the headliner for Saturday evening.”

This may not be the only job she’s lost, though. Rhymes with Snitch quotes sources saying that after telling producers for the Mahalia Jackson biopic that she was pregnant, she’s since been dropped from the project. Initially, rumors of her pregnancy were dismissed under the assumption that the singer-actress was gaining weight for her role as the gospel legend.

I’ve just been wanting to hear it- flipping stations and scrolling, but I haven’t got to it yet, but it’s just hitting the radio. [When I do hear it] I’ll probably call into the station and make a fool out of myself screaming like a little baby that they just played my song!

Sugarland returned to the stage on Thursday for their first performance since a stage collapse at the Indiana State Fair killed five people. The Grammy-winning country duo asked its Albuquerque audience for a moment of silence in honor of those who were wounded “and the beautiful lives that were lost.”

Sugarland members Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush were minutes from performing at the fair in Indianapolis last Saturday when 60 to 70 mph winds gusts knocked the massive stage onto the audience. Four were killed instantly, another person died later. About four dozen others were hurt.
