‘American Idol’ auditions at AT&T Park this week

Auditions for the next American Idol take place in San Francisco on Thursday.

San Francisco is the last stop on the popular show’s Season 10 tour, and wristbands for the tryouts will be given out at AT&T Park beginning 7 a.m. Tuesday until 8 a.m. Thursday.

Musician Katharine McPhee Concludes U.S. Hunger-Free Summer Tour for Kids by Visiting Houston Children in Need

In order to help children facing hunger, the ConAgra Foods Foundation and Feeding America created the Hunger-Free Summer initiative.

Among those supporting the Hunger-Free Summer program this year is 2006 “American Idol” runner-up, Katharine McPhee.

“I have had so much fun this summer visiting children from Orlando to Los Angeles, writing songs, singing with them and working to provide laughter and fun in their day, ” said McPhee. “The Hunger-Free Summer initiative has been truly rewarding for me and I hope the awareness does not end when children go back to school, because unfortunately, hunger doesn’t fully stop when school starts.”

Dancing with the Stars to Announce Next Round of Dancers During Live Press Conference

Hoping to further capitalize on one of its top-rated shows, ABC will telecast a live press conference to reveal the celebrity cast for the next edition of Dancing with the Stars on Monday, Aug. 30. The new group of hoofers will be introduced by Dancing co-hosts Tom Bergeron and Brooke Burke during an episode of Bachelor Pad.

This is the first time in the show’s history that a live press conference was scheduled to unveil the participants.
