In order to help children facing hunger, the ConAgra Foods Foundation and Feeding America created the Hunger-Free Summer initiative.

Among those supporting the Hunger-Free Summer program this year is 2006 “American Idol” runner-up, Katharine McPhee.

“I have had so much fun this summer visiting children from Orlando to Los Angeles, writing songs, singing with them and working to provide laughter and fun in their day, ” said McPhee. “The Hunger-Free Summer initiative has been truly rewarding for me and I hope the awareness does not end when children go back to school, because unfortunately, hunger doesn’t fully stop when school starts.”

Kellie Pickler and her fiancé, songwriter Kyle Jacobs, were lovey-dovey, goofy golf partners at a fundraiser yesterday (Aug. 16) in Nashville.

Seems like Kyle might be the better golfer of the two.

Kellie stepped up to the ball at the annual Music Row Ladies Golf Tournament. She concentrated. She pulled back her club. She swung mightily. And she missed. Several times.

  1. ahahahaha at Archie’s vlog… lolol. Him playing with his eye and then turning up the music jamming to it.

    but yay!! New music soon!
Arrrggggg at the fact he’ll be doing a new song probably at the six flags ticket to ride, and im not going. D: So cloooosseee. BAH! lol

  2. Katharine’s cause is very noble but it’s ironic that she’s fighting for an end to hunger in America while walking around looking like she exists only on lettuce and water.

  3. This is OTT…

Amazon has a really good album for only $3.99. It is
God Willin’ & The Creek Don’t Rise by Ray LaMontagne & the Pariah Dogs

    I love it!

  4. Katharine’s cause is very noble but it’s ironic that she’s fighting for an end to hunger in America while walking around looking like she exists only on lettuce and water.

I thought that too. In fairness, she must stay thin to be competitive as an actress (sad but true) but I did think that she looks like she’s got less body fat than some of the people she was feeding. Good sing-a-long thing she did tho.

And David’s vlog–cute at the end singing Jill Scott’s song–Living My Life Like It’s Golden. He likes a lot of different music. He also looks glowing himself–really flying high and happy. Just adorable.

  5. Katharine is an odd one to figure out. I recall reading an article about her in Shape magazine a couple years back, discussing conquering an eating disorder. Then, she was back on the Shape cover this year even thinner than the first time, saying that she lacked confidence in that first cover shoot. Now the hunger cause. Odd.

Anyways, she has some excellent PR people, because I see her in the media all the time. Just never hear her music. Odd, odd, odd.

  6. Anyone remember that tv show where this old guy was always trying to capture this young guy (George Day?) to get his anti-aging blood? Well David seems to not only have anti-aging blood, but he also has to be the happiest, most positive person I’ve ever known. Fans consensus was that his “I Was Born A Rambling Man” was his best vlog. I think this one tops that one. Loved seeing him grooving to Jill Scott’s music. Little by little he comes out of his shell.

    ETA, Thanks MJ.

  7. Love David’s Vlog. He is so down to earth and happy! Especially liked the jammin to Jill Scott’s music and sharing that moment with us. Cool!!! Also proud of the angels and David standing up to cancer. I agree goboywonder-David keeps topping each Vlog and he makes it seem so effortless. Looking forward to hearing about all his upcoming appearances. Wish he was coming closer!

  8. Loved Archie’s new Vlog…can these possibly get any better? But somehow they always do!
