‘American Idol’ Back-Up Plan — Shania Twain

“American Idol” sources tell TMZ … the Jennifer Lopez deal isn’t dead yet, but if it does flatline … “Idol’s” next choice is country star Shania Twain.

Shania was a hit on “Idol” this past season when she served as guest judge and mentor.

We’re told Shania is Plan B.

Fantasia May Be Sued for ‘Stealing Husband’

Cook has not taken any legal action against Fantasia yet — but Barrino’s lawyer, Gena Graham Morris, tells us it very well COULD happen … because in NC there are certain “heartbalm torts … where a wife can sue a third party for having a relationship with her husband” — it’s called alienation of affection.

Former American Idol winner Fantasia Barrino tried to take her own life after her married boyfriend Antwaun Cook called-off their relationship

The stress of the break-up , plus the fact that Cook’s wife Paula filed a complaint against the singer accusing her of sleeping with her husband caused the performer to snap.

First, I was shocked to hear there’s something called Carrie-oke. TV station KSN sponsored it. This hilarious dude took singing Carrie to a whole new level. It’s hilarious.

Clay Aiken And Ruben Studdard’s ‘Timeless’ Tour: Medleys, Exorcisms And Borscht Belt Comedy

On Wednesday night (August 11), Clay Aiken and Ruben Studdard brought their joint “Timeless” tour to New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom at the Manhattan Center. Well, it was supposed to be at Hammerstein, but at the last minute it was moved to some secret ballroom on the seventh floor, which had the decor (and odor) of an untouched 1970s wedding reception hall.

It turns out the venue switch (due to low ticket sales) worked brilliantly for Clay and Ruben, since their show played like a long-lost Carol Burnett/Julie Andrews variety special. (With less of a budget.)

‘Glee’ reveals comic book (pic)

Comics company Bluewater Productions is doing a comic book based on Fox’s hit show “Glee.”

Those hoping for new stories featuring the same characters are sure to be disappointed, though — this is part of the company’s “Fame” series which gives “a look at the lives of the actors and creative talent” on the show.

‘Glee’ Cast Showcased in Comic Book

“Glee” has already conquered television, music, and touring, and now the show will invade the world of comic books. Bluewater Productions has named the cast of the hit TV series as the centerpiece for the next installation of their “Fame” biographical comic series.

“Fame: The Cast of Glee, ” set for a November release, will chronicle the meteoric success of the show. The series will also document the newfound fame of cast members Lea Michele, Matthew Morrison, Jane Lynch, Cory Monteith, Chris Colfer and show creator Ryan Murphy.

Lea Michele “So Excited” About Britney Spears Coming to Glee!

At last night’s Blackberry Torch party, Lea gave us a little sneak peek of what we can expect…

“We’re recreating Britney Spears’ videos…a few of them, in fantasies, so I happen to be caught in my tracksuit. Whether or not that’s “Hit Me…Baby One More Time, ” you can put the pieces together.”

She actually was hoping to sing another song, before realizing there was a slight issue.

“I wanted to do “Circus, ” which we’re not doing, but I realized that the choreography would be way too hard for me!” she added.

Ratings: ‘Dance’ performance finale down, ‘Jane’ up

While all eyes have been on “American Idol, ” there’s another Fox competition series that may be ready for a creative boost.

“So You Think You Can Dance” is wrapping up its latest cycle with its lowest-rated performance finale yet.

While still a very competitive show in summer-reality terms and up a tick from last week, Wednesday’s penultimate “Dance” (6.1 million viewers, 2.1 preliminary adults 18-49 rating) is down 25% from last summer’s comparable finale.
