Source: Paula Abdul Could “Get Sued Big-Time” for Returning to American Idol

According to a source familiar with Abdul’s recently executed contract with CBS, she is prohibited from appearing on any competition show on any other network, both broadcast and cable.

She signed the 7-figure deal in the spring, when it was announced she would judge and executive-produce the upcoming American version of the U.K.’s Got To Dance.

Forgive fans if they think Danny Gokey is feeling gloomy.

The country singing, former “American Idol” contestant’s new single is “I Will Not Say Goodbye” — an ode to the parts of us who never let go of loved ones even after we’ve lost them.

Its video yanks on heart strings given the publicized story of Gokey’s wife, Sophia Gokey, passing away just two years ago, and her inspiring him to go after a music career.

‘American Idol’ competitor reveals some other talents

Siobhan Magnus was, if we’re being honest, the only remotely interesting thing about “American Idol” Season 9’s top 10.

Now that the glitter has settled, and safe, schlubby Lee DeWyze was crowned the winner, “Idol” seems to be on its last legs. Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell are gone. Ticket sales for the entire tour have been underwhelming at best.

Magnus, however, remains enthusiastic about her future. She’s been dubbed a standout on the tour, and her set includes signature “Idol” tune “Paint It Black, ” No Doubt’s “Spiderwebs” and Muse’s “Stockholm Syndrome.” It’s impossible to not be charmed by her freewheeling, fantastical spirit.

As a young boy growing up in a small town in North Carolina, it was expected that Bucky Covington would one day take over the family business.

“My grandfather started an auto body shop, and my father took over, ” said Covington. “I wanted to get out and see the country and the world.”

And country fans should be glad he did.

American Idol judge Randy Jackson starts to gain weight again following gastric band surgery

American Idol judge Randy Jackson showed a fuller figure yesterday as he dined with friends in Los Angeles.

The 54-year-old star, who lost over seven stone when he had gastric bypass surgery in 2003, looked noticeably larger as he stepped out wearing a tight black T-shirt and jeans.

But Jackson said recently that despite successfully losing weight previously, he never stops trying to maintain his new slimline figure.
