You’re doing so well now and you have become a celebrity and your popularity is increasing at an exponential rate. Do you think that your American Idol experience was a critical stepping stone for you?

Definably! I have been doing this since I was 13 years old and I have been told NO so many times. So I know that this was a huge stepping stone in my career and I really don’t think that I would be here today if it was not for the show. It would have been a lot harder at least.

Mandisa Celebrates First No. 1
On Monday (8/1) ASCAP celebrated the writers and publishers of “Stronger, ” Mandisa’s No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot Christian Songs chart, with a reception in Franklin, Tenn. Written by Ben Glover, David Garcia and Chris Stevens, the song marks Glover’s eleventh trip to the top of the charts and Garcia’s first. Publishers Brentwood-Benson Publishing and EMI CMG Publishing were also honored. “Stronger” is Mandisa’s first trip to No. 1 and is the lead single from her third studio album on Sparrow/EMI CMG, What If We Were Real.

Jennifer Lopez is ready to let go — but Marc Anthony isn’t.

Although Lopez has joyously embraced life as a single working mom since the couple announced the end of their seven-year marriage nearly three weeks ago, Anthony is struggling and scrambling big-time, an insider tells the new Us Weekly, out now.

And the Latin crooner sometimes takes it out on his future ex-wife. “His mood shifts from blaming her to begging her to take him back to telling her she is destroying his life, ” the Lopez source says.

Paul McCartney On Music Reality Shows & His Upcoming Post-9/11 Concert Documentary

Beatles songs have become standard fare on music competition shows, and Paul McCartney admitted on Thursday he is a fan of programs like “American Idol” and “The X Factor.”

“I think all of that is cool because it’s what’s happening today, ” Paul told reporters as he answered questions via satellite from Cincinnati, OH, at the Showtime portion of the Television Critics Association Session in Beverly Hills.

“You always have to understand, if people want it – it’s got some value, ” he continued. “I feel a little sorry sometimes for some of the performers because they don’t have that background [like The Beatles]. We had years before we hit it big time… But I think the shows are fascinating. I watch those kinds of shows.”

Chris Colfer Talks ‘Glee’ ‘Misunderstandings’

“Glee” star Chris Colfer is happy the confusion about his future on the hit FOX show has been resolved.

“Everything was just kind of a series of misunderstandings, ” the actor told Access Hollywood on the set of his upcoming movie, “Struck by Lighting.”

“Everything’s good now. We are on the show, I don’t think we’re going anywhere, ” he continued.

The actor was cast in ‘Imogene, ‘ set for a 2013 release.

Darren Criss has got a lot on his plate! The Glee star, who was officially made a series regular in June, and has the show’s Glee: The 3D Concert Movie premiere August 12, also signed on to take over Daniel Radcliff’s How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying role on Broadway January 1, 2012.

And now, the actor has been cast in his first feature film, Kristen Wiig’s post-Bridesmaid’s project, Imogene (she’ll star and executive produce).

The film, set for a 2013 release, tells the tale of a woman who fakes her own suicide to get an ex-boyfriend back, but instead, ends up living back with her mom (a gambler) in New Jersey. Criss will play Wigg’s love interest.
