About one hour into the show. Kris Allen appeared in the row behind mine. Yes, it was that Kris Allen, the “American Idol” winner, who earlier in the evening opened for Barenaked Ladies at Red Butte Garden. Apparently, rather than stick around and see Barenaked Ladies, Allen traveled across the valley to see McCartney. And he seemed transfixed throughout, singing along, clapping his hands, and it was in that moment that it was obvious this was no ordinary concert, and this was no ordinary man we were watching. And it was no ordinary boy we were watching either.

Eleven teens are killed each day because of distracted driving, according to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
At her concert in San Francisco last Saturday, Sparks told the crowd, “Take the pledge. Take the picture. And it is a habit. I know. I’ve texted in the car before, and I swerved. And it’s really, really scary. So please you guys, just take the pledge.”
