An 18-year-old from San Diego has been crowned the new Miss California.
Arianna Afsar won her crown Saturday night in Fresno and will compete in January in the Miss America pageant. The UCLA freshman’s platform was Adopt-A-Grandfriend.
Amber Riley to bring some ‘Glee’ to All-Star game
ANAHEIM, Calif. – Amber Riley will bring her high school pep to the Major League Baseball All-Star game.
The “Glee” Starlet will sing a set of songs and the national anthem before Tuesday’s edition of the annual midsummer classic held this year at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, Calif., baseball officials announced Sunday.

‘Glee’s’ Jane Lynch and Chris Colfer talk Outfest honors and Emmy noms (VIDEO)
It has been a big week for Jane Lynch. It started with Thursday’s (July 8 ) Emmy nomination for outstanding supporting actress for “Glee” and then she was honored by Los Angeles Outfest for the impact her body of work has had on both mainstream and LGBT audiences.
“I was thrilled, ” she told OTRC at Outfest about her Emmy nom. “I woke up about 5:20 to a phone call from my agent. You know I was with my wife and she was like so excited. It’s wonderful to have somebody with you, to share it with.”
She also called “Glee” castmate Chris Colfer her “hero.” Colfer presented her with the Outfest award and also nabbed an Emmy nomination himself that morning.

“She obviously missed a few of the regional auditions and Boot Camp is due to start on July 22. Simon had a meeting with X Factor and ITV1 execs yesterday to instruct them to push back Boot Camp until Cheryl is ready.
