David Archuleta’s new single “Something “Bout Love” (Co-written by David) has a Mainstream Radio adds date of July 26, according to FMBQ. Listen to a new 30 second snip of the single here: HERE. Mama Sox stops home before tour

TOLEDO, Ohio (WUPW) – Crystal Bowersox spent Monday morning in Toledo and took a break warming up in Detroit for the start of the American Idol 2010 Tour, which kicks off Thursday at The Palace.

Bowersox performed live at the Clear Channel radio studios.

The American Idol Season 9 runner-up and Elliston native said she’s been quite busy since the FOX reality singing show, with rehearsals and appearances across the United States.

While at the radio station she signed guitars that will be auctioned off for the June 5-6 tornado relief effort.

A little more than a year ago, Kris Allen was just a regular guy from Arkansas but all of that changed in May of 2009, when he was crowned the season 8 winner of American Idol. He went on to release two successful singles – first, “Live Like We’re Dying” and most recently, “The Truth”. Now, he’s out on the road, playing packed venues around the country and opening up for artists such as Barenaked Ladies and Keith Urban. We caught up with Kris today in an exclusive interview about his music, his tour, and life after Idol.

Bo Bice’s Grandparents Lose Home to Fire

John and Madge Schofield have lived in the same house since 1997. But after a fire gutted the house on Saturday night, the Schofields are now looking for a new place to live.

Late Saturday night, Madge’s daughter Penny and her fiance Dennis, were the only two of nine people awake inside the house when the fire started.

They quickly woke up everyone else.

“I was thinking maybe it’s just a little fire but when I jumped up my head went up into dense smoke and I liked to choked, ” says Madge Schofield.

Luckily all nine people made it out of this charred mess safely.

“I’ve got to find a place for my husband to be able to lay down. He’s in a recliner and he’s got to be able to lay down, ” Madge Schofield says.

Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood Concerts Canceled After Montana Tornado

Upcoming concerts by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood in Billings, Mont., have been canceled following a tornado that hit the local Rimrock Auto Arena on June 20. Paisley’s show was scheduled for Sept. 26, followed by Underwood’s on Dec. 10. Refunds will be available Thursday (July 1) when the box office reopens. Promoters are also encouraging fans to attend the artists’ concerts in Bozeman, Mont., roughly 140 miles to the west. Paisley, who recently performed shows in England and Norway, is scheduled to play Bozeman on Sept. 30, while Underwood will perform there on Dec. 12.

CKX signs new deal for its new chief executive

CKX Inc., parent of “American Idol” producer 19 Entertainment, has signed its new chief executive, Michael Ferrel, to a contract that runs through 2013.

Ferrel, who succeeded CKX founder and Chief Executive Robert F.X. Sillerman, has signed a deal with a minimum base salary of $1 million per year through February 2013. Details of the accord were disclosed in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing by CKX. Ferrel had been a senior CKX executive several years ago who returned as acting chief executive in May after Sillerman resigned.

Katharine McPhee Makes a Splash in Vegas

Katharine McPhee sang the songs of summer last weekend in Las Vegas. The “American Idol” alum treated fans to a poolside performance at the Azure Luxury Pool at the Palazzo.

As the inaugural performer of the season for “Stereo Love Saturdays, ” Katherine dipped her feet in the sparkling pool as she sang her hits. She said of the Sin City retreat, “I just think it’s such a cool environment. I love the party atmosphere. It kind of reminds me a little bit like I’m in the South of France somewhere; just a different part of the world. It’s kind of nice to come to Las Vegas and get a different taste of something.”

‘Glee, ‘ ‘Modern Family’ Finalizing Syndication Deals

Get ready for more ‘Glee’ and ‘Modern Family, ‘ as the freshman comedies are about to join the ranks of ‘Two and a Half Men’ and ‘The Big Bang Theory’ with lucrative cable syndication deals.

Producer 20th Century Fox TV is finalizing separate deals for the cable rights to both shows with Oxygen and the USA Network, reports Deadline.

Oxygen is reportedly paying six figures an episode to land Fox’s ‘Glee, ‘ plus the rights to air the planned reality series that will feature performers competing for a spot on the show’s upcoming second season. (Yep, that’s still happening!). Word is that Oxygen will take over the reality project from Fox and ‘Glee’ creator Ryan Murphy, who want to focus on developing the show’s second season.

Lileth Fair Experiences Sluggish Ticket Sales

The all-female Lilith Fair, now re-dubbed Lilith tour, is suffering from sluggish ticket sales, prompting organizers to cut back on tour dates, reported Canada’s Globe and Mail on Friday.

Originally created in 1997 by singer-songwriter Sarah McLachlan, the Lilith Fair boasted an extraordinarily popular all-female singer lineup, netting millions of dollars in ticket sales. It initially ran for two years, ending in 1999.

According to the Globe report, one of the artists slated to go on tour, Norah Jones, will not be performing due to canceled venues.
