Former ‘American Idol’ contestant is a ‘Jersey Girl’

Former “American Idol” contestant Antonella Barba may have been born in California, but she’s Jersey through and through.

Barba, who grew up in Point Pleasant and made her way to Idol’s top 16 in the show’s sixth season, is loud and proud about her roots on her new single “Jersey Girl, ” which the singer released independently this month.

The 23-year-old recently wrapped up filming a video for the summery pop song in Point Pleasant Beach, and with lyrics like “always talking too fast, never pump my own gas” and “let me set the record straight, it’s exit number 98, ” she’s clear about her love of all things Garden State and Shore.

‘So You Think You Can Dance’: OMG, Bieber and an elimination!

I didn’t wake up this morning expecting to be forced to watch a Justin Bieber video, but that happened tonight on “So You Think You Can Dance.” More surprisingly, I didn’t hate it. The cute dancing of Bieber, Usher and the backup dancers in the “Somebody to Love” video that debuted during the episode almost distracted me from the inexplicable Asian theme, and the fact that the show was broadcasting a video as opposed to actual live performance. That little Canadian and the even littler girl in the video won me over.

Nigel Lythgoe Post-Show interview – Korbi from Give me My Remote

“I hate the all-stars leaving the stage when they’re finished [dancing], ” he said. “I want them standing there [next to their Top 11 dance partner while the judges’ comment]. I think America’s wise enough to know that you’re not voting for the all-star, you’re voting for the [Top 11] dancer, so there’s no reason [the all-star shouldn’t stay on stage], I don’t think it would confuse anybody that the all-star is there. And [then] they can support their partner.”

So, kids, expect to see that change in effect as of next week.

Alexie post-boot interview – Korbie from GiveMeMyRemote

Okay, so good thing Mia stated emphatically, at the end of tonight’s show, that Alexie is going to work as a dancer, right?

When the camera was off, the 26-year-old actually told me that the next thing on her wish list would’ve been to share the stage with Michael Jackson, but since that’s off the table, she’s got to come up with a new dream.
