American Idol stalker pleads guilty to further charges

A woman previously convicted of stalking a former American Idol contestant has pleaded guilty to further stalking charges.

Tanya Quattrocchi, 23, of Oak Park, pleaded guilty today to four stalking charges committed while she was on a community-based order.

The Victorian County Court heard that between November 8, 2007, and January 30 this year, Quattrocchi stalked 2004 American Idol runner-up Diana DeGarmo, her mother and flatmate.

‘Idolatry’ finale: Pink hair, Kris and Adam love, contestant snubs, and The Kara Problem!

It’s here at last: The five-part Idolatry season finale! Okay, yes, it’s not technically our season finale. (Later this week, we’ll have in-depth interviews with season 8’s top 3 finishers — Kris Allen, Adam Lambert, and Danny Gokey.) But as far as your regularly scheduled Idol deep-dive is concerned, this is it, people! Press play and (hopefully) enjoy as my cohost Kristen Baldwin and I have one final 2009 chat (on camera) about our national obsession America’s favorite TV talent show. Questions on the docket: How did the season finale become a (possible) referendum on (possibly) gay rights? (Or did it at all?) Which piece of advice from Adam Lambert helped semifinalist/Jason Averett crush Jesse Langseth become even cooler during her Hollywood Week run? Who got snubbed hardest in the Idol season-finale extravaganza? (And why do the producers work so hard to spoil our enjoyment of said episode?) What changes would Kristen and I bring to Idol for season 9…if we were limited to one tweak apiece? (And how come neither of us immediately said “Fire Kara!”?)

American Idol stalker wanted to write book about crimes

A MELBOURNE woman who cyber-stalked an American Idol contestant has been warned by a judge to ditch plans to write a book of her crimes.

Tanya Maree Quattrocchi, 23, hacked into the MySpace account of 2004 runner-up Diana Degarmo and wreaked havoc on the pop singer’s life for three years, intercepting her emails and texting her hundreds of times.

Today County Court Judge Lisa Hannan said she was concerned about Quattrocchi’s hope to write a book telling “her side of the story”.

Judge Hannan said any book would be another form of stalking.

Susan Boyle’s Ratings Make American Idol Drool

“American Idol” may have just ended its season as the top-rated television show — by far — in America, but over the pond YouTube star Susan Boyle is taking the ratings for Simon Cowell’s other project, “Britain’s Got Talent, ” on a rocket ride.

Boyle, for those of you who only know Kris Allen and Adam Lambert, is a 47-year-old woman described as ‘dumpy’ or ‘frumpy, ‘ whose unexpectedly brilliant singing voice has taken our cousins by storm.

According to the London Telegraph, more than half of everyone in Britain who had their TVs on Sunday were watching Boyle make it to the finals of the show, singing “Memory” from “Cats.” That’s an amazing statistic in this age of 1, 000 personalized channels.

LaKisha Jones: ‘Celebrate’ The Dawn of a Diva

American Idol season 6 finalist Lakisha Jones is ready to celebrate and with good reason.

On May 19, the big-voiced native of Flint, Michigan dropped her debut album So Glad I’m Me, an upbeat and deeply personal pop/R&B collection that heralds the dawn of a new gay diva.

From the opening strains of “Grateful, ‘ the disc’s autobiographical first track, right through to “Just Am I, ” the collection’s inspirational closing track, So Glad I Am plays like a personal testimony of one woman’s struggle against the odds to find success and self-acceptance.

Heartfelt and uplifting, So Glad I Am is an album that succeeds not simply because of the superlative voice behind it, but also because of its unfettered authenticity.
