‘American Idol’ Finalist Scotty McCreery Doesn’t Just Sing, Guitar Teacher Says
Regardless of tonight’s results show on ‘American Idol, ’ Scotty McCreery is sure to be making his debut album in the next few months. No doubt his record label bosses will have a heavy hand in choosing songs for the thick voiced 17-year-old, but they may want to save a slot for a McCreery original. His longtime guitar teacher, Gary Epperson, tells Taste of Country the Garner, N.C. kid can write a real weeper.
“I heard him do one about a girl … that was about how she had broken his heart, ” Epperson says, “and the girl at the party [was] cryin’.” It was a standard teenage scene afterward, he says, with friends chasing after her. Could the smiley country crooner be hiding heartbreak?

Interviewing Randy Jackson these days, you’d expect to talk about who’s going to be the next American Idol, but in the 45 minutes of our conversation in a small office off Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles, California, we sat in his ‘guitar’ room and talked about the likes of the world’s richest men, Bill Gates and Warren Buffett. Simon Cowell brings ‘X Factor’ back to Chicago area
Simon Cowell thinks audiences made a mistake by eliminating Jennifer Hudson from “American Idol” in 2004, and he’s going to do all he can to make sure that sort of error doesn’t happen on his latest singing competition, “The X Factor.”
“That kind of thing wouldn’t happen on this show, ” Cowell said before the second round of “X Factor” auditions Thursday at the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates.

Queen reveals she is an ‘X Factor’ fan
The Queen admitted to singer Mary Byrne last night that she was a fan of ‘X Factor’.
She met Queen Elizabeth at the Convention Centre and recounted what the queen had said when she was presented to her.
“She came up and spoke to me and said ‘you are the lady off the ‘X Factor’, ” said Byrne.
“I asked her did she watch it? The queen said she watched it the next day so she must have recorded it, ” Byrne told the Irish Independent.
