The voice on the other end of the phone was hoarse and not exactly what I’d expected, and with good reason. Diana DeGarmo was recovering from a car accident last night.

“We were on the exit ramp and everyone started hitting one another and it was a domino effect, ” she said. “I turned around to hear tires screeching and just in time to see a semi clip this other car and to say, ‘We’re about to be …, ’ ” and the she made a little “pfft” noise. DeGarmo was still a little groggy this afternoon, with “a good goose egg” bump from hitting the back of her head on the back seat.

Today she tweeted: It’s always slightly awkward when the EMT checking you out for injuries recognizes you…. but then it’s kinda funny. Welcome to my life.
