Many feel Bowersox is a winner — even if she gets voted off Idol

ELLISTON, OH (WTOL) – Crystal Bowersox’s latest performance on American Idol could have her heading home to northwest Ohio.

Bowersox sang a rendition of Shania Twain’s “No One Needs To Know” Tuesday night and after weeks of praise, judges on the Fox singing contest were not impressed.

Simon Cowell told Bowersox it was the “only week where I haven’t actually really liked your performance.”

But even if Bowersox is sent home, many folks feel the 24-year-old is still a winner.

Siobhan Magnus Exits ‘American Idol, ‘ Leaves Behind A Fashion Legacy

Wednesday night’s (April 28) elimination episode of “American Idol” was somewhat of a surprise. Even though all of MTV News’ “American Idol” prognosticators thought that it would be the end of the line for Michael Lynche and Aaron Kelly seems to have spent the last few weeks in a mine field, it was amateur glass blower Siobhan Magnus who ended up getting the chop.

Since we’re in the area of the eliminations where the rejected contestants tend to end up getting record contracts, we probably haven’t heard the last of the 20-year-old Massachusetts native. Magnus has left behind a handful of recognizable legacies. There was her signature shriek (which began as a strength but ended up being a liability), her fondness for tattoos (especially the Zulu phrase “Ngi Ne Themba” written on her arm, which is not only an inspirational message of hope but also a tribute to Hanson) and at least one signature performance (her take on Aretha Franklin’s “Think”).

Adam Lambert, ‘If I Had You’ — New Song

‘If I Had You’ is Adam Lambert’s third single off his debut album ‘For Your Entertainment.’ Penned by Max Martin, Shellback and Savan Kotecha (who have all written hits for Britney Spears, notably ‘If U Seek Amy’ and ‘3’), the dance track is heavy with synth back beats and a catchy chorus: “But if I had you, that would be the only thing that i would ever need / Yeah if I had you, then money fame and fortune never could compete / If I had you, life would be a party it’d be ecstasy.”

Carrie Underwood sparkles at Richmond Coliseum

The assured young woman who ascended from beneath the Richmond Coliseum stage last night on a red couch to ferociously snarl “Cowboy Casanova” bore little resemblance to the shy, baby-faced “American Idol” winner of 2004.

In her elegant and girly tuxedo, Carrie Underwood stalked a circular platform and poured her multioctave voice into the slam-bam country rockers “Quitter” and “Wasted.”

That’s what five years of head-spinning success will do — turn you into a star.

Dancing’s Tony Dovolani: Motivating a Demoralized Kate Was the Hardest Part

Tony Dovolani didn’t get the Kate Gosselin hate before their Dancing with the Stars time started — and he still doesn’t. “I really just do not understand why people pick on someone they don’t know and someone who is doing the best she could do to provide for her kids. It’s truly amazing to me that more people pay attention to the negative comments, ” he tells TVGuide.com. “If they really take the time to hate on somebody else, I wonder what their lives are like.” Contrary to reports claiming otherwise (and his infamous rehearsal walkout), the pro says he and Gosselin got along famously on Dancing with the Stars — and still do. Elliott Yamin on ‘Idol’ and diabetes

Nice photo of Elliott and Crystal w the article

As Crystal Bowersox enters the top 5 — and in all likelihood, Season 9’s finale — she faces a challenge not shared by her fellow finalists: life as a diabetic, which requires regular injection of insulin and constant monitoring of one’s blood sugar levels. In fact, it was just after the start of the top 24 that Crystal was hospitalized for reasons related to what she calls her “‘beetus, ” forcing the show to switch its guy-girl lineup at the last minute.

Of course, it’s not the first time “American Idol” has had to accommodate a contestant with the condition. Elliott Yamin set the precedent in Season 5, so it’s no wonder the two hit it off at the “Idol Gives Back” party last week (see photo above), after which Crystal wrote, “Oh so many ideas about starting an organization to give diabetes diagnostic tools to people and places that don’t have them! People die before they ever know why! Thanks for a good chat, Elliott!”
