Simon Cowell hates country music, says American Idol’s Carrie Underwood – She also revealed Simon Cowell “hates” her musical genre — something many believe was a major reason behind the flop of his new show X Factor USA. Underwood, 29, who has sold 13??million albums and 18.5??million singles, will perform at the Royal Albert Hall on June 21. She said: “It will be my first time with a UK audience. Kris Allen’s Dog Zorro Graces Cover of New Album – The pooch was a surprise Christmas gift from Allen’s wife of three and a half years, and also a compromise. “She wanted a dog, but she wanted a small dog, and I was like, ‘I don’t like small dogs,'” he explained. “But [a French bulldog] is kind of the middle ground because he’s still kind of like chunky and got like big muscles, [and] big dog personality.” – Read more at People

‘Smash’ capitalizes on star Raza Jaffrey’s musical theater expertise
RMusical numbers are an expected element of the NBC hit series “Smash,” which centers on the making of a Broadway musical about Marilyn Monroe. What’s not so expected is that in Monday’s episode, “Publicity,” there’s a Bollywood number, “A Thousand and One Nights,” and it features a character who’s not in the musical-to-be. William Levy: Cheryl Doesn’t Care about My Ankle – After gutting it out and performing on Dancing with the Stars with an ankle injury last week, William Levy updated ET on the status of the injury and also on how his partner, Cheryl Burke, was treating his injured ankle.Levy revealed that his injury is getting better but is still ailing him but Burke isn’t doing much to work around his injury in their routine. “She just don’t care. She just don’t give a s*** about my ankle,” he said. “She comes and tells me we have to do four lifts. Gotye Disses Glee’s “Somebody That I Used to Know” – “It gets to that point where it starts to feel a bit self- conscious and I don’t want to hear any more people doing something with this.”  Glee gave the song a huge boost, but Gotye has mixed feelings about the version. “They did such a faithful arrangement of the instrumentals but the vocals were that pop Glee style, ultra dry, sounded pretty tuned and the rock has no real sense, like it’s playing to you from a cardboard box,” he said. Chris Colfer Talks ‘Struck By Lightning’ & Ninja Turtles – “For one, me of all people, I didn’t want to do another sexual identification story,” Colfer, who both wrote and starred in the movie, explained. “In my opinion, if you address a character’s orientation and they have a really strong message to tell, kids who don’t identify with that orientation won’t identify with the message. So I feel like if he was gay in the movie, straight kids wouldn’t listen as much, and if he was straight the gay kids wouldn’t identify as much. And I think, selfishly, being part of Glee, I didn’t want to do another couple! (Laughs.) But Glee is very much a fly by the seat of your pants [operation] in the way that best laid plans never quite come together.
