EXCLUSIVE: ‘Drop Dead Diva’ Adds More Celebs to Gay Prom Episode (Lance Bass & Clay Aiken)

We already know that ‘Drop Dead Diva’ will be tackling a tough issue this season based on the true story of Constance McMillen, the Mississippi high school senior banned from her prom for wanting to take her girlfriend.

Now AOL TV has learned exclusively that even more openly gay celebrities have agreed to guest star on this very special ripped-from-the-headlines episode.

‘Drop Dead Diva’ guest stars Lance Bass, Clay Aiken, Amanda Bearse

Former *NSYNC member Lance Bass, ‘American Idol’ alum Clay Aiken and ‘Married … With Children”s Amanda Bearse are in for the proceedings for the show’s fifth episode of the season (season 3 premieres June 2011 on Lifetime).

Bass plays a casting director who approaches Fred (Ben Feldman) to be in an energy-drink commercial; Aiken is a witness in one of Grayson’s (Jackson Hurst) cases about a mail-order bride scam; and Bearse will be playing a judge. They join previously announced guest star Wanda Sykes, who’ll be playing the judge for the episode’s biggest case, and McMillen herself, who has a cameo as Sykes’ bailiff.

Report: Cowell Quits UK ‘X Factor’

While he continues to do his tedious fan dance as to who will judge the U.S. X Factor, Simon Cowell has reportedly told Brit broadcaster ITV that he will not be judging this year’s home-grown version. According to the Daily Mail Cowell has dropped out because of health fears. Coping with running two X Factors on either side of the Atlantic, as well as producing both versions of Got Talent and ITV’s new game show Red Or Black, is too much – even for the famously workaholic Cowell

Cole closer to ‘X Factor’ deal

Cheryl Cole is closing in on her deal to being named a judge on Fox’s “The X Factor.”

The Brit singer-songwriter has been a judge on the U.K. version of the reality competition skein since 2008 when she replaced Sharon Osbourne but is a new face to American audiences.

She would join Simon Cowell and producer L.A. Reid as judges for the series that is set to debut in September. Cole’s last album, “Messy Little Raindrops, ” was released in November and the single “Promise This” shot to No. 1 in the U.K. charts.

Sources say the contract is currently being written for Cole and her announcement as the third judge should be coming soon after.

Simon Cowell on ‘X Factor’ Judges: ‘No One is Either In or Out’

In London, “Extra” tried to get the scoop from “X Factor” creator Simon Cowell on who will be taking the seats on the judging panel.

“No one is either in or out at the moment, ” Cowell coyly responded.

What about the rumor Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie was on the list? “She is cute. You either got to be cute or slightly mad, which is why Paula [Abdul] is still in the mix.”

Cee Lo Green Sounds Off On ‘The Voice’

But Cee Lo’s career is hotter than ever. So why would he join a show like this, right now?

And my other burning question was…just how is “The Voice” different from “American Idol, ” “The X Factor, ” “America’s Got Talent, ” “CMT’s Next Superstar, ” and all the other TV talent shows out there?

“It was my first legitimate — well, I don’t want to say legitimate to negate any other awards I’ve ever gotten, ” he says. “But it’s the first time I’d been nominated with people that I was really kind of like — Oh my God, Andrew Garfield, Donald Glover, Emma Stone… all these people who I think are awesome!

‘Dancing With the Stars’: Karina Smirnoff and ‘Ralpheo’ on that ‘Playboy’ thing and their unique chemistry

Ralph Macchio and Karina Smirnoff’s waltz to the theme from Franco Zeffirelli’s “Romeo and Juliet” during week 4 of “Dancing With the Stars” got us a little choked up — as we may have mentioned.

But don’t call it a comeback.

“I don’t feel that we had lost our mojo, ” Macchio said backstage, referring to their rebound on the scoreboard. “It was bigger, though. The music is so melodrama, the story is a tragedy, and you have 89 seconds of dance time… we wanted to draw the audience in.”

‘Dancing With the Stars’: Mark Ballas remains coy about Pia Toscano, not choreography

Our inner (and often outer) fanboy was thrilled when Mark Ballas and partner Chelsea Kane briefly turned the “Dancing With the Stars” ballroom into the Hogwarts discotheque during their April 11 performance.

Dancing the Viennese Waltz to the John Williams’ original “Harry Potter” theme, Chelsea and Mark gave the 300-year-old number a new spin — and while it certainly pleased the crowd, everyone was a little nervous about what the judges would have to say. (It was only two weeks ago that the duo got slammed for playing their Jive too fast and loose.)

‘Dancing with the Stars’ Kirstie Alley: ‘We’ve become the freak show’

“I’m not doing a sitcom. I’m actually doing a dancing show!” the actress told reporters afterwards. “I’m tired of having to recover. I would just like to do something right. I don’t feel like I’m jinxed, but I feel like I need to get my sh– together. When people are accident prone, there is something going on with them. There is something going on. Our rehearsals were swell. We’re bitchin’ in rehearsals. If you could just sort of tune into the rehearsals…”

Simon Cowell wants to see Jersey attitude at tryouts for his new TV show

Will the notoriously blunt Cowell be kinder to pre-teen hopefuls?

“It’s the other way. I have to say to them, ‘You gotta be nice to me, ‘ ” Cowell says, laughing. “It’s true. ‘Treat me gently.’ I think the days of somebody being pushed on singing ‘Good Ship Lollipop’ are over. These kids have got so much knowledge, attitude, swagger, coolness now. They don’t watch TV. They watch YouTube. So, they kind of work out the kind of artist they want to be. I think they’re going to have a great time and teach me a lot.”

“I was trying not to show it, but I’m not very good at hiding my feelings, ” he says. “It was the same thing effectively for nine years, and because I was doing this other show in the U.K. [on which] there was no age limit and I was seeing groups, I kind of started to get itchy feet about bringing the show over here.”
