Idol Worship: Diane Warren Heaps Praise On “Amazing” Adam Lambert

We ran into all sorts of people at Perez Hilton’s birthday party on Saturday night, which was held at famed Los Angeles hot-spot the Viper Room and featured a surprise performance by none other than Christina Aguilera(!), but far more interesting than vapid conversations we had with the likes of Tara Reid was our quick chat with Diane Warren outside on Sunset Boulevard. The veteran songwriter, Perez pal and former Idol guest judge admitted she only recently started tuning in to season 8, but was already fired up about one contestant: Adam Lambert.

American Idol’s Megan and the name game

Were you as shocked as I was that when the results of the American Idol Top 10 Motown performances were announced that the blonde with the tattoo on her arm was safe?

Her enthusiastic, but lamentable, version of Stevie Wonder’s “For Once in My Life” was a “train wreck” according to Randy Jackson (and he’s rarely that critical), while Simon Cowell labeled her singing “atrocious.” So, yes, I was stunned when she wasn’t in the bottom three. By the way, I’m not being insulting by not calling her by her name, I’m just not sure what it is.

Gokey better “Get Ready” for tough battle on “Idol”

While Milwaukee’s Danny Gokey does not seem in danger of being eliminated from the competition tonight on “American Idol, ” his status as a favorite/front-runner could be in jeopardy.

On a night when the contestants sang Motown hits, with Smokey Robinson and Berry Gordy seated in the audience, Gokey sang “Get Ready.” The tune fit his voice well and Gokey gave an energetic and overall credible effort, but judge Simon Cowell termed it “clumsy and amateurish.”

The other judges were more kind.

Jordin Sparks Ready For Jonas Brothers Romance Rumors

When she heads out on the road with the Jonas Brothers this summer, Jordin Sparks knows there’s a good chance that magazines and gossip sites will romantically link her to at least one of the guys. And she’s just fine with that.

“That is so funny, because I have had so many people tell me that, and I am like, ‘Oh great, here we go, ‘ ” she told E! News. “It is really funny, but I am ready. … Bring it on!”

Since it’s likely that she’ll be linked to one of the brothers at some point during the trek, Sparks was asked which one she’d like to share a headline with. “I don’t know, ” she said. “I think it would be scandalous on either side, because I think Kevin and Joe are taken at the moment and Nick is a lot younger than me.”

Castro Returns To Aggieland

Over the course of eight seasons on television, four words have become familiar in millions of households: …This is American Idol.

The show has produced famous singers, from Kelly Clarkson ‘ the show inaugural winner ‘ to Carrie Underwood and Jordin Sparks.

And it was a little more than a year ago on that show, when Jason Castro became a nationally recognized name.

…It kind of a long journey, especially early on. There a lot of waiting in line. And there were a lot of times I felt like quitting. Id think to myself, ‹Why am I standing here? This is miserable — Im not going to make it anyways. My dad encouraged me and I went through and kept making it further and further, Castro said about his experience on the show.

Kelly Clarkson, Jessica Simpson, and Kim Kardashian: The media frenzy over …fat vs skinny debate.

It was standing room only last night as Kelly Clarkson took the stage for the main event at Universal Orlando annual Mardi Gras Parade. Performing songs off of her newest CD along with her previous #1 hits (without lip-syncing I might ad), she rocked the crowd in a hot black number with her image magnified on several large screens. Eventually, the crowds were packed too tight and we began to exit the park. …Hey you guys! We turned to see one of my husband co-workers waving and walking towards us through the crowd, his young daughter by his side. …How does she look? he asked, breathing heavy just from walking the whole 25 steps towards us. …What do you mean, she sounds great! I added, puzzled. …

Enthusiastic Steve Wozniak defies logic of ‘Dancing’

No one watching ABC’s Dancing With the Stars (Monday, 8 ET/PT) is likely to confuse Steve Wozniak with Fred Astaire.

Wozniak’s ungainly moves have earned him some of the lowest scores from the judges in the show’s eight seasons. Foot and hamstring injuries have hampered his limited skills, which have drawn comparisons to a dancing Teletubby.
