Garner Water Tower to be featured on CBS primetime – Message from Judy McCreery, “American Idol Mom” Just wanted to share something exciting with you. You probably heard Scotty has been nominated for Academy of Country Music (ACMs) new artist, along with Brantley Gilbert and Hunter Hayes. Each nominee will perform for 1.5 mins during the awards show on CBS, April 1st at 8pm. The show will be in Las Vegas. Scotty is singing Water Tower Town. We asked Scotty’s manager to contact Ken Hall to get a Garner water tower picture to show as Scotty’s backdrop. The picture, which will be shown behind Scotty while he sings, is below at the bottom of this email. – Garner Chamber

Bo Bice Preps Christian EP, Talks Sobriety & ‘Idol’ – When asked about his current musical projects, Bice told Billboard “I’m still busy with music. I’ve been painting, and selling my art work. I think one of the coolest things is that I’ve been working on my ministry more, working on a Christian EP that I’m about to put out on my record label.” Bice admitted that he had to get his priorities in line. “I’ve been sober since October of last year. I took a retreat and got my head together. I quit drinking so much because it kind of got the best of me. Since then, I’ve really been focused on family, my ministry, and what the Lord has for me next.” – Read more at Billboard

American Idol Star To Perform At Castaic Relay For Life – “American Idol, Season 7” star Brooke White will kick off the 2nd Annual Castaic Relay For Life, at Castaic Lake March 31 at 10:00 a.m. White will be performing some of her original music and hold a meet-and-greet afterwards where fans can have their photo taken with the singer. The Castaic Relay For Life is a 24-hour event (beginning 9:00 a.m. on March 31 until 9:00 a.m. on April 1) meant to increase cancer awareness in Castaic while raising much needed funds for the American Cancer Society’s programs and services. – Read more at KHTS

Frasher Opens Gunslinger Entertainment With First Client – Former BNA Records VP Promotion Bryan Frasher has announced the launch of Gunslinger Entertainment, LLC, a music entertainment and management company. The company’s first client is BNA Records artist Casey James. It’s a busy time for the pair, as James’ single “Let’s Don’t Call It A Night” is climbing charts and his self-titled debut album hits stores tomorrow (March 20). “We hit the ground running after the first of the year and things have been moving at the speed of light ever since,” says Frasher. – Read more at Music Row

“Smash’s” unexpected star – While Karen and Ivy have been asserting their dominance, the two real-life actresses who play them — Katharine McPhee, a former “American Idol” contestant given top billing in all of “Smash’s” promotional materials , and Megan Hilty, a Broadway veteran who was not — have been doing the same. ‘America’s Got Talent’ winner builds house for grandparents, who lost Miss. home in Katrina – DIAMONDHEAD, Miss. — A Mississippi couple is moving into a new home thanks to their grandson, singer Michael Grimm, who promised to build them a house when he won “America’s Got Talent” in 2010. Grimm and his wife flew in from Las Vegas to help out by putting finishing touches on the house built for Thomas and Laurie Butters.
