Teach me tonight :: Melinda Doolittle on Love 101

American Idol Season Six (2007) finalist Melinda Doolittle is back at New York’s Feinstein’s through March 5.

The Tennessee native and one-time backup singer released her critically acclaimed solo album Coming Back to You in 2009 and has been busy with concerts (including performing at the White House in 2007) and charitable work.

Recently, she spoke with EDGE about her return engagement to Feinstein’s, her upcoming second solo CD, and all things American Idol.

X Factor star Gamu to be kicked out of the country after failing appeal bid to stay

The singer will be told she has to return to her native Zimbabwe as soon as possible… or face being forcibly removed, the Sunday Mirror can reveal. The shock decision from the Home Office comes despite Gamu, 19, and her family ­appearing to receive a ­reprieve in November and being backed by Simon ­Cowell’s lawyers.

Gamu previously told how she would face a “firing squad” if she was sent back to Zimbabwe but Border Agency chiefs have ruled that it is safe for her to return. An ­immigration source said: “Gamu and her ­family will hear shortly that their appeal to stay has failed.

Snubbed Stateside: Cheryl Cole misses out on judging job on U.S. X Factor show

Speculation over whether she will be taking her seat next to Simon Cowell on the judging panel of the U.S. version of the X Factor has been running for weeks.

But Cheryl Cole’s American dream seems to have been dealt a fatal blow as it has emerged she has missed out on the top job, according to reports.

Instead of a judging role it appears she will be offered the role of Simon Cowell’s helper on the American version of the show, a huge blow to her hopes of launching her career stateside.
