Cheryl Cole set for Stateside fame and fortune after she lands her dream job on U.S. X Factor

Speculation has been rife for months now as to whether or not Cheryl Cole will be a judge on the US X Factor.

But today a source told Mail the Girls Aloud star WILL be heading across the Pond for the American version of the talent show.

The source said the 27-year-old singer has been offered the job but has yet to officially ink the deal.

Although boss Simon Cowell was keen to take Cheryl to the States for the show, producers over there had been concerned that not only was she not famous enough in the US, but some viewers might struggle to understand her Newcastle accent.

But after Fox executives were impressed with her style on the British show, Cheryl has apparently been given the opportunity to make a name for herself in the US.

Oh, say can you…

I’ve seen all kind of comments today about Christina Aguilera’s National Anthem last night at the Super Bowl. Some of them were forgiving, most of them were not. Some were people I knew, some weren’t. After reading all these comments, I thought I would let you in on my perspective.

The National Anthem is my favorite and least favorite song to sing. :-)

I love honoring our country, backing my favorite team (Go Titans!), hearing the crowd singing along…it’s all really exciting and I feel so amazing when I get asked to sing it!
However, the range on the song is nuts…so starting in the right key is very important. Plus, I almost always second guess myself on the lyrics…even though I’ve been singing it for years. The “what so proudly we hailed” and “o’er the ramparts we watched” lines are the ones that get jumbled in my head sometimes. I can be all the way to “the land of the free” and still be wondering if I did it right.

Learning as he goes

A big break can come with big challenges and that has been the case for Clay Aiken.

For Aiken, runner-up in the second season of “American Idol” in 2003 and one of the show’s signature personalities, the music has always competed with intense curiosity about his personal life:

His sexual orientation. Family life with his son, Parker, now almost 3 years old, conceived via in vitro fertilization and born in August 2008.

Jennifer Lopez makes LA Times ’50 Most Beautiful In Film’

With the Oscars just around the corner, the Los Angeles Times Magazine compiled a list of the 50 Most Beautiful Women in Film, celebrating how these stars “set the standard for grace, glamour and allure.” The magazine admits to being “totally biased” in their selections, and it made for some surprising results.

While love from the Academy wasn’t a requirement, many of the beauties on the list have some Oscar credentials. A 2011 Best Actress nominee for her turn in “Black Swan, ” Natalie Portman took the #39 slot, while “Gossip Girl” star Blake Lively (the youngest woman on the list) was honored with a spot at #30 thanks to her roles in “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” and the upcoming “Green Lantern.” “American Idol” judge Jennifer Lopez follows behind Lively at #31.

Matthew Morrison Tells Cosmo Girl Lea: ‘Show It While You Got It!’

The March cover of Cosmopolitan features ‘Glee’ star Lea Michele in a sexy top that plunges deeeep down, showing a revealing swath of the star’s chest. A handful of critics are already crying foul, calling the image inappropriate for the star of a hit teen comedy, but Lea’s co-star and TV mentor, Matthew Morrison, has got his friend’s back.

“Show it while you still got it!” co-star Matthew Morrison told me this weekend while we both celebrated the Super Bowl in Dallas. Mind you, Mr. Schue hadn’t even seen Lea’s racy cover, but he has a “no regrets” attitude to his own foray in sexed-up mag covers.

Which Glee Stars Were MIA from Super Bowl Commercial—and Why?

“Cast members participated as their schedules allowed, ” says a Fox spokeswoman. Meanwhile a rep for Monteith got more specific: “Cory was unable to participate in the shoot due to a scheduling conflict. He was in Vancouver shooting an independent film called Brothers & Sisters.”

Reps for Colfer and Agron did not respond to requests for comment by press time, but perhaps it’s as simple as storyline conflicts (perhaps Chris Colfer’s Kurt Hummel couldn’t realistically be written into the ad because his character is currently singing with the Dalton Academy Warblers?) or busy schedules (Dianna Agron has been doing tons of publicity for her upcoming film I Am Number Four).
