Deville resident’s talent gets her ‘American Idol’ audition
The 22-year-old Deville resident traveled to New Orleans in July to audition for the 11th season of the show.
Krista’s “road to Hollywood” has been a long one.
Her July audition prompted further auditions — and longer waits.
“When we got to New Orleans the first time, we stayed from midnight to 8 a.m. waiting in line, ” Krista said. That was just to register.

Celeb overload: Why ‘American Idol’ must be dead to me
I am deleting “American Idol.”
The decision was long in coming, but based on nothing more than a feeling that enough is enough, the dance card is full, there is no more room for more of them.
Thus, I will not watch the star-making machine that so dominates this time of year. You might point out that it’s not much of a news flash for someone who still uses a term like “the dance card is full, ” but it does mark a change.

EMI may be sold in months as Citigroup cuts losses
Debt-laden British record label EMI today faces being sold within months as US banking giant Citigroup tries to cut its losses sooner than expected.
Citigroup, which lent EMI’s private-equity owner Terra Firma £3 billion, has signalled that it wants to seize control and rush a sale before June.
The US bank is said to have approached Terra Firma and potential suitors, including US label Warner Music and Simon Cowell’s Sony-backed venture Syco.

SIMON COWELL CAUSES PANIC FOR ITV
They fear they will lose a fortune after Simon Cowell dropped a hint he might well pull out of this year’s show. The station’s top brass are now nervously waiting for the music supremo to announce what he is going to do.
Cowell is expected to decide within weeks whether he will star in the show or quit to spend time launching it in America. TV chiefs believe ratings and advertising revenues would plummet if Cowell does decide to take a back seat.

Gaining on Glee: Max Adler, who gained major Glee traction this year playing a football player who terrorizes Chris Colfer’s Kurt for being gay, said he’s grateful for the role and for the fans’ reactions. “The first season I was definitely very much in the background, ” said Adler. “I was lucky to have a couple lines.” As for being Glee’s resident bully: “It’s playing a role no one else on the show is playing, ” he said. “It’s so much fun.” That doesn’t mean Adler, who sings, isn’t hoping to join in on a chorus. “Maybe one day Karofsky joins (glee club), who knows? I would love it.”
