SYTYCD’ Choreographer Sentenced to 10 Years in Prison For Rape – “So You Think You Can Dance” choreographer Alex Da Silva has just been sentenced to 10 years in prison for raping a former dance student … and assaulting another. 43-year-old Da Silva was arrested back in 2009 and charged with multiple felonies stemming from allegations he raped and sexually assaulted four women … all former dance students between the ages of 20 and 26. Da Silva was only convicted of one count of rape and one count of assault with intent to commit rape.
The jury deadlocked on the remaining charges, which were subsequently dismissed. – TMZ

The “American Idol” alum took a break from his busy day to chat with us about the honor of playing the Opry at the Ryman tonight. “I’m excited,” Casey told us over the phone this afternoon from the Sony Music Nashville offices. “I won’t say that I’m nervous. ‘American Idol’ producer Nigel Lythgoe joins Music Center board – Nigel Lythgoe, the uber reality-TV producer who was instrumental in launching Fox’s “American Idol” and “So You Think You Can Dance,” is joining the board of directors of the Music Center in downtown Los Angeles, the organization announced Friday. Lythgoe is one of three new appointments to the Music Center board. The others are Julia A. Stewart, the head of DineEquity, the parent company of the Applebee’s and IHOP chain restaurants; and Bertrand Valdman, a senior vice president at Edison International, the parent company of Southern California Edison. – Read more at Los Angeles Times

Fox Deciding Whether to Pick Up J.Lo’s Latina Drama – Jennifer Lopez is used to delivering verdicts on Fox, helping determine the fates and fortunes of contestants on American Idol. But within the next few days, it could be Fox execs handing down judgement on J.Lo. Lopez and partner Silvio Horta (Ugly Betty) have a very high-profile drama script in development at the network, and Vulture hears that it’s one of three projects vying to fill what may be a fifth, and possibly final, drama pilot slot at Fox this development season. Also in contention: a retelling of the Wyatt Earp legend from Transformers dudes Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci and a medical drama from Drop Dead Diva creator Josh Berman. While this decision is hardly make-or-break for the top-rated Fox, how network chief Kevin Reilly settles will be intriguing, since there’s a lot of politics involved with all three projects. – Read more at New York Magazine

She wears a tight-fitting blue athletic top and grips a large baby bump.
