I coach him vocally and performance wise and prepare him for rejections and the negativity, because I’ve been through it. “He is only 15, my goodness. I was 23 when I did Idol. I don’t think in a million years when I was at Tristen’s age I even had the guts to go up there and do that.” – Read more at The Hollywood Reporter

Is ‘Biggest Loser’ Winner Too Thin? Ruben Studdard Weighs In on Controversy – After the finale, many fans tweeted that they thought “Biggest Loser” winner Rachel Frederickson was too thin, after dropping from 260 pounds to 105 pounds. Ruben, who lost 119 pounds, weighed in on Rachel’s 155-pound loss, saying, “The one thing I will say about my friend Rachel Frederickson is that she is a hard worker… I’ve never seen anyone work harder to change their life than Rachel. He continued, “’The Biggest Loser’ is about making changes in your life, she has most definitely done that. This young lady was a champion swimmer, six-time state champion swimmer, and she had a lot of setbacks that made her turn to food to cope with those things, and she’s been able to overcome that, so I’m very proud of Rachel. I’m very proud of what she’s become, she’s the ‘Biggest Loser’ winner, and that’s all I know.” – See the Video at Extra

‘Biggest Loser’ winner ate 1,600 calories a day, exercised ‘a ton’ – During a media conference call, however, the one-time competitive swimmer who says she has reclaimed the athlete within sidestepped pointed questions again and again. She declined to specifically address the extent of her weight loss, or the backlash of criticism brewing on social media. Frederickson said that when she looks in the mirror, “I see a strong, confident woman. I feel great.” She said she lost all her weight under the direct supervision of the show’s medical experts and training staff. She said she did it with “super healthy” food choices, and by eating five small meals a day and hitting a calorie count of no more than 1,600 calories a day. Meals revolved around a perfectly balanced mix of carbs, fat and protein. In addition, she said, “I worked out a ton.” That included spending her working hours walking at a treadmill desk and then wedging in extra fitness classes and workouts where she could. – Read more at LA Times

Read a preview of ‘Glee’ star Chris Colfer’s new book – Actor Chris Colfer (Glee) isn’t ready to conclude his fantasy/adventure series for kids, The Land of Stories. As the cover of Book Three: A Grimm Warning is revealed here—it will be released July 8 – Colfer, 23, tells USA TODAY he may keep the series going. “I’m very happy with the fourth book (announced last fall for 2015) being the conclusion,” but, “I can’t say it will be the final story. I love these characters too much to completely abandon them.” Colfer says the first book in the series was the hardest. “You learn a lot about yourself and develop a process. Once a technique is established it’s much easier to go forward. It wasn’t until I finished The Land of Stories: The Wishing Spell that I knew for certain I was even capable of writing a book. That fear – “Will I make it? Will I finish this?” – eventually fades and you learn to enjoy it.” – Read the excerpt. Book cover below – USA Today
