Kelly Clarkson Looking to Release Next Album Later This Year – Kelly Clarkson is busy creating a tiny human right now — she’s expecting a baby girl with husband Brandon Blackstock — but she’s also creating new music, which it now appears we’ll get to hear before 2014 is over. When asked about her recording plans by a fan on Twitter, Kelly replied, “I am writing now & gonna be recording soon. Kris Allen at Beachland Ballroom: ‘American Idol’ winner heads to Nashville for the next chapter of his career – CLEVELAND, Ohio – American Idol Season 8 winner Kris Allen has spent the the past month plugging away in a studio, hoping fans will feel the same way he does about his new music. “I think we’re doing some really creative things in the studio,” says Allen. “Who knows? AMERICAN IDOL Winner Scotty McCreery Named National Goodwill Ambassador – Joining the charitable efforts emanating from Newtown, CT, to employ the performing arts as a healing mechanism in the wake of the horrific shooting tragedy which occurred there, the 12.14 Foundation announced today the selection of platinum-selling country music singer-songwriter Scotty McCreery as its first “National Goodwill Ambassador.” McCreery will play an active role in promoting the foundation’s arts programming, supporting its fundraising efforts, and building awareness for the organization’s plans to build a world-class performing arts and education center in Newtown. Renee Ellmers — and Ellmers has some harsh words for him. “Apparently his performing career is not going so well. He’s very bored,” the congresswoman told WMAL’s Mornings on the Mall radio program. She slammed his track record of losing competitions, including “American Idol”: “He didn’t fair all that well. He was runner-up.” Ellmers chimed in: “You can throw in there that he didn’t win on Celebrity Apprentice. I guess the next step is Congress. Justin Bieber Escapes Lawsuit From Bodyguard He Allegedly Beat Up – Justin Bieber has put the breaks on one of his legal problems. The pop star, currently under fire after being arrested last week on charges of driving under the influence and resisting arrest, has resolved a lawsuit brought by ex-bodyguard Moshe Benabou, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. A trial was scheduled for Feb. 18 in a Los Angeles courtroom. The date might have been tough given Bieber’s other legal troubles at the moment. Bieber was also charged with assault last week in Toronto for for an altercation with a limo driver on Dec. 30. The parties filed papers late last week to dismiss the complaint without prejudice.
