Endemol, Shine mega-merger cleared – Details were today announced regarding the new joint venture of 21st Century Fox and funds managed by affiliates of Apollo Global Management, LLC bringing together Endemol, Shine and CORE Media, to create a global entertainment group with a portfolio of international hits including Masterchef, American Idol, Big Brother, Broadchurch, The Money Drop, Peaky Blinders, Grantchester, Deal or No Deal, Wipeout, The Biggest Loser, Black Mirror, Mr. Bean, So You Think You Can Dance, One Born Every Minute, The Fall, Man vs. Food and many more.

Jared Keim is a new face, replacing Colton Pack who quit in February. While the change presented some struggles, it’s clear those have been left on the side of the road to rot. “One word that describes Simon Cowell is ‘diva,’” Beeken says. “He’s great, I love him. And I’m sure he’d even admit it — he is a diva.” “When ‘X Factor’ goes to commercial break he would have all the people come over and fix his hair and touch him up,” he reveals. ‘I was annoyed’ Mark Ronson on Uptown Funk’s rushed release after X Factor – Speaking to NME, Ronson said: “I was in the States and I saw on Twitter that Nick Hodgson [ex-Kaiser Chiefs] said, ‘Fleur East killing it with Uptown Funk’. I was like, ‘Oh that must be X Factor, that’s cool’. “Then I was like, ‘Wait, don’t the X Factor songs come actually out on iTunes?’ and then slowly this logic in my head unfolded. I realised this girl’s cover’s going to come out before our own. “So yeah, for a minute I was a little bit annoyed and then we kind of rushed ours, which is good ’cause I think whatever it took to get the song out.” The 39-year-old added that he wasn’t angry with Fleur, as he made an entire album from covers including The Zutons’ Valerie – so all’s well that ends well. – Read more at Daily Star.uk

Awkward! Simon Cowell poses up with a monkey on the beach in Barbados – Despite being on a golden sandy beach in Barbados, The 55-year-old looked anything but relaxed. Instead he appeared rigid with tension – due to the small monkey perched on his head. His entourage saw the funny side and Cowell, who was wearing blue and white patterned shorts and a blue life jacket, tried to force a smile.
