Taylor Hicks: Well, I let my work speak for itself. I don’t find it annoying. I can easily be found. I think that’s just the mainstream media running out of angels, personally. Elise Testone releases new single and readies post-Idol disc – But that’s not stopping Testone. She keeps on plugging away, even when the songs aren’t coming so easily. “Some people sit down and make time every day to write. I wish I could be like that, but whenever I write a song, it just comes and I capitalize on the moment,” Testone says. “I’m the best me when I’m not spending too much time planning. I’m best when I’m being real.” She adds, “Singing takes all the emotions out of me. Like, sometimes when I sing a Janis Joplin song, it feels almost as if her spirit jumped into me and I almost feel a blackout from all the pure emotion. Fox Boss Chase Carey Calls ‘X Factor’ ‘Disappointing’ – and Expects a Rebound – Chase Carey says 21 Century Fox’s broadcast schedule has been a mixed bag, citing one very expensive music competition as exhibit A among the under-performers. “‘X Factor’ has been disappointing to date,” the COO told analysts during a conference call Tuesday after the media conglomerate reported weaker than expected quarterly earnings.
