Idol Headlines for 11/4/14

It’s Election Day here in the states! American Idol season 2 alum, Clay Aiken, is running for Congress in North Carolina. We’ll have ALL OF THE EXCITING RESULTS RIGHT HERE. All polls indicate that Clay can look forward to yet another 2nd place finish, however.

NBC Announces SNL Lineup for Nov 15 & 22 – On Nov. 15, Woody Harrelson will return to Studio 8H for the first time in over 20 years to make his third appearance as SNL host. Kendrick Lamar will perform as musical guest for the second time. The seven time Grammy Award nominee recently released new single, “i,” from his forthcoming album. Cameron Diaz hosts for the fourth time on Nov. 22. Mark Ronson teams up with Bruno Mars as SNL’s musical guest, after Mars last served as both host and musical guest in 2012. Mars and Ronson collaborate on “Uptown Funk!” which will be released on Nov. 10 and is the first single off Ronson’s new album. – Read more at NBC

The 88TH ANNUAL MACY’S THANKSGIVING DAY PARADE® SETS BROADWAY PERFORMANCES FOR LIVE TELECAST ON NBC – NBC and Macy’s today announced the lineup of the best of Broadway set to perform at the 88thAnnual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade®. On Thursday, Nov. 27, Broadway’s best shows will take to the streets of New York for special performances on the telecast of the annual spectacle (9 a.m.-noon in all time zones.) Set for Thanksgiving Day are high-stepping numbers from this season’s Tony Award-winning Best Musical “A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder,” Sting’s “The Last Ship,” “On the Town,” “Side Show,” and “Finding Neverland.” The Broadway spectacle will also feature a special sneak preview performance from NBC’s “Peter Pan Live!” which premieres Dec. 4. – Read more at NBC

Clay Aiken’s bus breaks down after stop at the polls on Election Day – Clay Aiken, who is challenging 2nd Congressional District incumbent Republican Renee Ellmers for her seat, experienced a break down on Election Day.
Authorities in Cary had to assist Aiken’s tour bus Tuesday morning after it came to a stop along Walnut Street and Donaldson Court. Verizon Wireless Announces its Newest Destination Store on Chicago’s Michigan Avenue – To celebrate the opening of this landmark location, Academy and GRAMMY Award winning artist, Jennifer Hudson, will unveil the store’s interior at an event to be held on Saturday, Nov. 15, at 11:11 a.m. Additionally, Verizon will present a $250,000 donation to WINGS Metro, a domestic violence shelter being built on the city’s south side. This will be made possible through the company’s HopeLine® program, which provides funds and support to domestic violence prevention and service programs throughout the country. CMA Awards tickets now going for average of $550 – NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The hottest ticket in Music City this week is to the CMA Awards Wednesday night. The only way to get one, however, is to spend a lot of money on the secondary market. “That’s something that I would love to do because I’m a big Lady Antebellum fan and I love Brantley Gilbert,” said Jeremy McKay of Nashville. “I would be willing to go for 200 dollars,” he continued. But Mckay will likely need to pay even more. Right now, the only tickets available are on the secondary market for an average price of $550 per ticket, according to ticket search engine Seat Geek. – Read more at News2
