Kris Allen Ushers in 2014 in NLR – North Little Rock, AR – As 2013 came to a close, the new year was ushered in on the banks of the Arkansas River. North Little Rock played host to a brand new event. Natural State of Music hosted the ‘Big Ball Dropping Celebration’. The company claims it is the only ball dropping, New Year’s Eve event in Arkansas. Several Natural State native musicians took the stage for the more than 5 hours of music, including ‘American Idol’ winner Kris Allen, and top 8 finalist on ‘The Voice’ Cody Belew. Allen said, “Its New Year’s everyone’s having a lot of fun, and I think this is the first time that Little Rock has had anything like this, so I’m glad to be a part of it.” Allen said, “I’m really excited about 2014, I will put out a new record at the beginning of the year.” – Read more at FOX 16

Happy New Year Message from Kris Allen – Starting January 1st it was obvious that this year was going to be a journey. In spite of the wreck and my mangled wrist we kept going and went through with the Out Alive Tour. (I promise we named the tour beforehand.) Thanks to all of you who came out to those shows and cheered on a drugged up guy with a huge cast in a scarf-sling prancing around on stage. After the tour I took some time off to heal after 3 surgeries and to be home with my new baby boy. No big deal. Talk about going from the worst thing to the best thing that’s ever happened to me. Then it was back to work. I spent a lot of time in Nashville this year writing for a new record and writing a lot at home as well. I’ve fallen in love with the community of musicians, artists, and overall good people of Nashville. Or maybe just the hundred of amazing places to eat. Yeah, that’s probably it. And now we’re at the end of the year.
Already it seems like 2014 is going to start in good fashion. I’m going to spend January making the new record and I’m already so proud of it. I can’t wait for you guys to hear it. – Read more at Kris Allen Official
