The Voice Winners Jake Hoot and Todd Tilghman announce New Song Collaboration

“Man, I’ve waited a long time to share this with the world! My good friend @jakehootmusic and me covered one of the most iconic hymns of all time!” Todd wrote on social media. “It releases EVERYWHERE January 14, 2022, and y’all can pre-save it on Christmas!”

Jake Hoot won season 17 of The Voice with Kelly Clarkson while Todd Tilghman won season 18 with Blake Shelton. Both are country singers. Todd was a preacher and has a big adoptive family Jake grew up in the Dominican Republic where his parents were missionaries.

Blake Shelton Calls Kelly Clarkson the New Adam Levine, Says It’s ‘Hard’ to Get Mad at Ariana Grande – “She will look at you with a smile and be sticking the knife straight in your back,” he says. “She’s done it to me a hundred times already. And it’s like, ‘Okay. Now I see how it is.’ And then she wins you back over, and you’re not mad at her anymore.” Shelton admits there used to be things about working on “The Voice” that upset him, too. But a decade after the show launched, he says he’s “been able to kind of settle in.” “We’ve gotten so good at making that show,” he explains. “They’ve been able to really work hard at making the parts that I don’t like about being on television a lot better.” – Read more at People.com

Jimmie Allen Talks His Banner Year, Building His Business, & Fostering Talent Early – Helping other artists has been a big part of Allen’s work over the last few years. At only 36-years-old, Allen has launched multiple businesses and regularly shines a spotlight on rising artists. He believes it’s better for him to bring up his peers and protégés now while he’s on the rise, as opposed to starting entertainment companies when he’s hit the crest of the career. It’s a strategy he’s observed from hip-hop culture. “I love the way that hip-hop culture did it, especially Lil Wayne. Lil Wayne signed Drake and Nicki Minaj. Drake signed The Weeknd and took him out. It’s all about using your platform to break your artists,” Allen says. “If you sign someone, you’re investing. The more successful they become, the more successful your business becomes. I’m trying to take that same approach and do it in the country world.” – Read more Music Row

Lauren Jauregui Talks Fifth Harmony’s ‘Sisterhood’ and ‘Healing’ from Group’s ‘Abusive’ Situation – “We were young adolescents thrown into the spotlight. Because remember, X Factor is not even anything but a reality show that you’re on TV in front of millions off the bat, and I think we all just had our own way of processing that,” she said. “And that affected the group in general. And that affected us personally. And I think that now we’re at a point in our lives where we’re healing from it, and we’re each doing what we were truly meant to do for ourselves.” She later added, “[There was] no one to teach us that [communication], no one. No mental health resources anywhere along the way. [We were] expected to be an adult at adolescence, with zero knowledge of this industry. So many adults taking advantage of that naïveté.” – Read more at People
