Kris Allen: Live At The Paste Studio – Kris Allen is best known by many as the winner of the eighth season of the recently concluded TV reality competition American Idol. Although he’s had an interest in music since he was very young, he didn’t decide to pursue the craft professionally until he was of college age. American Idol was going to be his last chance of becoming a professional musician, as he planned to finish his degree after getting eliminated from the show. Thankfully, much to Allen’s surprise, that day never came, and he won the competition. He recently came into our studio to record a session and blew our socks off with his pop/alt rock stylings. – See the Video at Paste.com
Jessica Meuse: Life after ‘Idol’ still unfolding for Slapout singer – In 2014, Slapout, Ala. resident Jessica Meuse took a lot away from finishing fourth in the 13th season of Fox TV’s “American Idol.” She shared some of her experiences with the Montgomery Advertiser on Monday during a visit to perform a couple of her original songs in our newsroom. “Ever since being on ‘American Idol,’ the best way I can describe it is, you know the ‘Wizard of Oz,’ picked up in a tornado and it’s going crazy and all that,” she said with a twirl of a finger. “And then they drop you back in Kansas and you’re like, ‘What just happened?’” “I have this wisdom and education from what I just went through on ‘American Idol’ in Hollywood and all the experiences that came with that,” Meuse said. “And now I’m taking that, and taking myself to the next level pretty much by myself.” – See the Videos at Montgomery Advertiser

Kellie Pickler: ‘I Still Feel Like That 19 and Green Girl That Got in Line for “Idol”’ – You know that friend you have who is dreading her 30th birthday? That is so not Kellie Pickler. The country singer/reality star/cancer advocate still has a couple of months before her birthday on June 28, but she’s already pumped for it. “I’m just happy to be healthy and upright and above ground,” the American Idol alum tells Yahoo Celebrity. “We’ve lost a lot of friends that were very, very young, so I would say getting a day older is a privilege that a lot of people are denied. So I don’t look at 30 as being a curse. I still feel like that 19 and green little girl that got in line for Idol 10 years ago. I’m really excited and hopefully with age comes more wisdom and growth, and I’m excited to see what the rest of my life holds and unfolds into.” – Read more at Yahoo.com

Jodie Sweetin Opens Up About Her Dancing With the Stars Injury and Performance Doubts – “It wasn’t too bad,” she told E! News’ Erin Lim about her ankle. “Luckily my ankle is OK, but I bruised a bone on the outside of my foot, which is tender and sensitive, but the ankle at least is stable. That would’ve thrown things off a little bit more. It is what it is. I keep it wrapped and ice it when I can and then I push myself the rest of the time.” – Read more at EOnline
