Jordan Smith back home in the South – (KNOXVILLE) Jordan Smith, the Harlan, Kentucky, man with the soaring, lyrical voice, arrived in Knoxville on Friday night, his first trip back to Southern soil in many days. After winning ‘The Voice,’ Jordan Smith is ready for a Harlan homecoming – “It’s going to be very special to get to my little house nestled in the mountains,” Smith said about returning to his parents’ home in the Harlan community of Coldiron. To Harlan, it’s going to be special to have Smith back, a sentiment that will be expressed Monday afternoon with a parade through downtown Harlan followed by a program at the Harlan Center, the same location where Smith’s hometown fans have gathered for The Voice watching parties. “He represented Harlan County and Kentucky extremely well,” Harlan County Judge Executive Dan Mosley said Tuesday, a few hours before Smith won the top-rated NBC talent competition. “Eastern Kentucky has been in a bad situation as a result of the economy, and this has given them hope.” – Read more at Kentucky.com

There were no homecomings this season due to the semi-final blood bath. It’s nice the singers are at least getting homecoming parties after the fact.

Emily Ann Roberts returns home from Hollywood – One day after becoming the runner-up on NBC’s “The Voice,” family and friends welcomed Karns teen Emily Ann Roberts with cheers and hugs. “I’m really overwhelmed,” Roberts said. “I didn’t expect this at all.” While continuing schooling is one of her next steps, Roberts has a lot more ahead of her. “I want to start writing,” Roberts said. “I want to start getting stuff together that is truly who I am and I just really want to keep learning and build on everything I learned while I was out there.” – Videos at WBIR.com
