Jennifer Hudson Reflects on Dreamgirls 10 Years Later: Is She Still Friends With Beyoncé? – But more than just making an incredible, Hudson also said she made great friends, including Beyoncé. When asked if she stills stays in touch, the singer couldn’t help but reply, “Oh my God, yeah!” she said. “I just went to see Beyoncé in concert twice. She knows when I’m coming every time!” She added, “We actually saw I just saw each other at the CFDA Awards. Jennifer Hudson Talks Denim, Her Upcoming Album and Leaving New York – She’s also one-song deep on her next album. “I’ve been exposed to so much, especially the Broadway experience and being around artists and musicians, in every form. I’m curious to see how it’s going to spill from me and what’s going to come from it,” she said. “I feel like I’m in a new space now creatively. What that is, I don’t know. I’m discovering that.” Hudson is playing a very familiar role — an artist — in Sandler’s “Sandy Wexler.” “I’ve always wanted to do a comedy, I never guessed my first comedy movie would be with Adam Sandler, I’m such a fan. I’m super excited,” she exclaimed. “In my fittings I realized, ‘oh my god, my style is really Nineties.’ I was, like, ‘I have that, I have that, I have that.’” – Read more at WWD.com

What helped Christian singer Mandisa get over a ‘pretty deep depression’? – “A few months ago I was in a pretty deep depression. I isolated myself and closed out all of my loved ones, including God. Eventually, I felt so hopeless and far away from my heavenly Father that I could see no way out of the self-imposed pit that I climbed into,” Mandisa writes on her Facebook page. Mandisa might be at a loss then, but God was always watching over her. He then sent her an uplifting message through a song. When she turned on the radio, she chanced upon the new Casting Crowns song called “One Step Away” from K-LOVE Radio. – Read more at ChristianToday

Dorenbos ‘proud to represent Philly’ on America’s Got Talent – “It’s really cool that the team kind of had my back, and the fans I can’t thank you enough,” Dorenbos said. “I think it’s so, so cool. Nothing gives me more pride than to represent Philly as an Eagle in the stage at the Dolby Theatre.” Now that the Eagles are in training camp, Dorenbos doesn’t anticipate missing more than one or two practices (and no games) for the final rounds. The 36-year-old said that the Eagles have been “super supportive.” And to be honest, if there is anyone at camp who can afford to miss a practice or two, it’s definitely the veteran long snapper. “We’re going to make it work,” Dorenbos said. “It’s not going to affect games, it’s not going to affect much time at all.” – Read more at PhillyVoice.com

Leona Lewis Puts Aside Pop World to Get Her Nails in ‘Cats’ – In the years since she first encountered Cats, Lewis won the TV contest show X Factor, earned three Grammy nominations. She became the first British female solo artist to top the U.S. Billboard 200 album chart in more than 20 years. Broadway represented a career shake up following a disappointing reception to I Am, her fifth studio album and the first since she left Simon Cowell’s record label. “It’s a lot of work and it’s very focused and dedicated and you have to literally eat, sleep, live, breathe the theater. That was a whole new challenge for me and something I wanted to take on,” she said. “I feel like it will improve me as a performer — it already has.” Lewis, 31, is playing Grizabella, a once-elegant but now faded and isolated creature in a shabby coat. It’s a role immortalized by Elaine Paige and Betty Buckley. – Read more at Billboard.com
