‘American Idol’ bits: Kellie Pickler interview, Carrie Underwood in Shape – Only two years ago did she first dip her toes in reality TV by taking on “Dancing With the Stars.” Result: she won! Then earlier this year, Ryan Seacrest and CMT finally convinced her to do a reality show focused exclusively on her aptly called “I Love Kellie Pickler,” because really, who doesn’t love Kellie Pickler? She felt close to CMT, which complements her country music image. And Seacrest? There’s a comfort and trust level there as well. “It makes sense,” she said. “He’s not a curve ball. He has one of the most incredible work ethics I’ve ever witnessed. I want to learn from him.” – Read more at AJC
Lauren Alaina: ‘It Feels Really Great to Have New Music Out’ – “It feels really great to have new music out,” she says. “I didn’t have any out for a very long time, so I’m excited to have stuff out for people to listen to, and I can already tell at the shows they’re singing them back to me. So that’s exciting.” The American Idol singer wrote all of the songs on the EP, and then some. “I worked really hard on it. I wrote over 200 songs for the project — five of them are on the EP,” Lauren Alaina explains. “The first 100 probably wouldn’t have made it, and the second 100 we had to go through.” – Read more at Taste of Country

Earlier this year, his wish was granted. “We finally got together a few months ago and started writing in the studio,” the Fuse singer tells Rolling Stone Country, adding that the unlikely duo is still hammering out new material for Urban’s next album. “I’ve always just liked his guitar playing and it felt like we would click musically.” – Read more at Rolling Stone
Behind the scenes of Dancing With the Stars: Here’s why Derek Hough is nervous – “I actually haven’t lost a team dance in like 13 team dances,” he says. “But I don’t know. The other team looked really good today. So I’m a little like, ‘Uh oh! Hope we can tie.’ But I have faith in us.” – See the Video at Entertainment Weekly
