Adam Lambert Extra Interview

American Idol alum and Queen frontman Adam Lambert talks to Extra during Global Citizen Live concert in Los Angeles.

Q&A with Gabby Barrett – Carrie Underwood has been an awesome person [who provides] advice and friendship. She’s just been very kind to me since getting off American Idol. You can tell by her character and her kindness, even on camera, that she’s like that to everybody, which makes it even better [when she’s like that to you in real life]. She was somebody who I heard on the radio and saw on TV and enjoyed a lot [when I was younger]. She’s an amazing mentor for a range of men and women who look up to her. INTERVIEW: IAN FLANIGAN – Your new single “Grow Up” features Blake Shelton! What was the transition like, going from being a contestant on The Voice to having such a major artist on your first big single? IF: It’s been an amazing journey and a whirlwind! Season 19 ended and the next morning they had me on a flight to FL, and I immediately was back on tour. My fiancée, daughter and I made our way to TX the following week in our RV, where I got a call from David Ross, the owner of Reviver Music Group. He ended up offering a single recording deal. From there we started working together on my new single, “Grow Up.” David had the great idea to include Blake on the track, so we sent it over to see what he thought. Turns out he was interested in the track and our recording timeline aligned with his. It really goes to show what a generous guy he is to take the time to do that, and the investment he has in the artists he coaches. – Read more at Vents Magazine
