McPhee performed on an LGBTQ cruise to Provincetown, Mass., and Foster joined her onstage. “I don’t know if you noticed or not, but there’s a bit of an age difference between the two of us,” he told the crowd. “But on this cruise, nobody gives a s?-?-?t.” The comment was such a hit with the audience that Foster repeated it the following night. “He did the same thing during her second show, except she added a ‘Go f?-?-?k yourself’ to go along with his ‘Nobody gives a s?-?-?t’ comment,” a source said. – Read more at Page Six

Auditioning for ‘American Idol?’ Taylor Hicks has some advice – With “American Idol” due to hold auditions in Mobile on Aug. 20, season five winner Taylor Hicks has a few words of advice for season 18 hopefuls. That’s not a good approach for this particular show, Hicks says, because “Idol’s” focus always has been first and foremost on vocal talent. He cites some advice he says he got from Nigel Lythgoe, one of the show’s producers at the time: “It’s a television show, but ‘Idol’ and the record company have to sell your voice.” Hicks says he likes the fact that over the years, “Idol” has changed its format to allow people to play musical instruments. But it can be a pitfall, he says. “‘Idol’ wants great singers. They want the vocal talent. Hiding behind the instrument is not a good thing, in my opinion,” he says. “The show was born out of finding great singers.” – Read more at AL.com

Cassadee Pope Reflects on ‘Electric’, ‘Special’ Feel of All-Women Shows – Compared to recent years, all-female country tours abound in 2019: Carrie Underwood has mounted her ambitious Cry Pretty Tour 360, with opening support from Maddie & Tae and Runaway June. Miranda Lambert’s Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars Tour, also featuring Maren Morris, Elle King, the Pistol Annies, Tenille Townes, Ashley McBryde and Caylee Hammack, returns in September. And Morris launched her own headlining trek, Girl: The World Tour, featuring Hailey Whitters, Kassi Ashton, RaeLynn and Cassadee Pope, early in the year. “It was amazing. It was so electric, the energy,” Pope gushes to The Boot, looking back at the latter trek. “It was just me and Maren [during the shows I performed at], so people were in there early, and they were there for my set. She brought me out for [her song] “All My Favorite People,” which was really fun. It’s a really fun song, and she and I are really good friends, so it felt authentic singing that with her.” – Read more at The Boot
